Pirate For Hire Chart fishes the backcountry, flats and the Glades for the likes of Redfish, Snook, Tarpon, Permit, Bonefish, Trout, Mackerel, Snapper, Grouper and many others. There’s hot action year round, and you won’t miss out when fishing with this crew. Whether it’s serious fishing, or a custom trip, Capt. Ron’s got you covered.

Pirate for Hire is a 2201 Mako Bay Boat, powered by 200HP Mercury Optimax, with a maximum capacity of four fishermen. The boat is spacious, quick and outfitted with all the necessary gear for both casual outings and serious fishing excursions. The vessel comes equipped with quality fishing as well as navigational gear, including Garmin 760 GPS and fish finder.

Captain Ron, a 3rd generation pro fisherman, has spent his whole life fishing. He’s been at the helm of vessels ranging from 16’ to 65’ in size, and has served as a professional deckhand for over 6 years. He started fishing back in 1982, and has fished as north as North Carolina and as south as the bonefish-rich Bahamas. Islamorada, however, has always had a special place in his heart, both as his home and as one of Florida’s eminent fishing grounds. Captain Ron’s got more commercial fishing experience than many, however his true passion remains providing people with a fishing trip they won’t forget on the productive waterways of Florida Keys.

His son and second in command, Captain Daniel is a 4th generation fisherman that’s been fishing the Islamorada waterways his whole life before he started serving as a deckhand with his dad. Daniel usually compares his passion for fishing and outdoors to that of his father or even greater, and is happy to do whatever he can to provide you with a memorable experience aboard the Pirate.

All fishing gear, bait and licenses are covered by the Captain at no additional cost. Ron prefers fishing with live bait on almost every trip all throughout the year, and will be happy to clean and filet your catch following the trip.

Ron has fished all over the states and beyond, but to him, there's no better place to settle down and fish than the proven waterways of Islamorada. In addition to giving his customers a fishing trip to remember, Captain Ron also holds fishing seminars and has penned numerous articles on fishing in major publications. Not only is Ron a knowledgable captain, but is also a great guide who will help you have a nice time out on the water.

My girlfriend and I just fished with Captain Ron this past Sunday, 11-12-17.  We had a great half day trip.  Ron kept us busy the whole day, catching a variety of fish, both of us were left smiling.  He was very patient with my girlfriend who doesn’t have much experience, explaining little things to her with funny anecdotes.  He’s a great guy—personable, funny, entertaining.  He really did a good job putting together a trip for 2 different types of anglers on the same boat—which is a really nice, clean Mako bay boat that rides smooth and can really cruise.  Now I have to hear her brag about how she caught a shark and I didn’t!  Thanks, Captain Ron!
