The waters in the state of New York are a freshwater angler's dream. The many landlocked lakes, streams, and of course, Lake Ontario make for very productive fishing. Combine that with the Alex Kolody Guide Service (that will take you to the hottest fishing spots!), and you have the recipe for a memorable fishing adventure.
Fishing with Alex is done from his 21' 2021 nitro Bass boat . The boat has a single 250 HP outboard mercury pro xs and can take up to 3 anglers, guide not included.
You can choose from a wide range of lakes in the area, including Finger Lakes, and many other streams and small rivers. You can also hit Lake Ontario (from October to April), but all locations depend on the season – talk to Alex before arriving to figure out what you want to go after.
The fish on the catch list are all gorgeous prime targets. You can go spinning, popping for Bass, jigging for Lake Trout, power-fish with heavy tackle for Bass. Fly fishing is also an option. NO Experience needed! I love to teach you how to catch them!
You will be supplied with high-quality spinning and casting gear, with Alex ready to give you instructions in whatever technique you want to try. You need to get a valid fishing license before arriving though. Drinks are also provided. You can bring your own food, but bananas are not allowed.

Captain Kolody is not only knowledgeable, but also an excellent teacher. I’ve been fishing for ages, yet I still managed to learn a ton from this Captain. In addition, he’ll make excellent and useful company during your time on his boat. I would recommend him to anyone who reads this post, easily the best fishing trip my father and I have ever been on. Alex was the best. He knew where the fish were hiding and we caught over 75 fish. Rock bass and a few large mouths tossed in. It was a great day thanks to Alex. He taught us a few tricks and he was extremely personable. You can’t go wrong, with Alex as your guide you can’t go wrong.

Spent a full day trip fishing with Mr. Kolody and my son. In addition to putting us on a lot of great fish, he took the time to give us both tips on fishing and make sure all of our needs were taken care of. Alex provides all of the tackle and is a skilled boat captain. The atmosphere in the boat is professional, but always fun. We have fished many times with Mr. Kolody and the experience is always fantastic. While fishing with Alex my son and I have both caught our personal best largemouth and smallmouth bass as well as personal best in many other species. If you are looking for a guide who can provide a fun day of great fishing look no further.

Alex has taken me fishing on numerous occasions for both bass and trout and I can honestly say I have never been disappointed. He is extremely knowledgeable and always puts you on the fish. Alex put me on numerous 5lb+ largemouth, my PB smallie (5lb 14oz.) and helped me extend my fishing season by teaching me to trout fish in the winter and ice fish when everything is frozen solid. Each time I go fishing with Alex I learn something new. If you want to catch big fish and have a great time doing it, Alex is your guy.
