Just want to come on here and say captain Rick does not disappoint. I told him before hand what we wanted to target and you can bet they were in the boat in no time. Ricks communication prior to the trip was excellent. His crew Garren and Ray were absolutely top notch, they were both knowledgeable and very patient with my daughter throughout the full day trip. The boat was absolutely amazing equipped with A/C and a toilet when you needed a break. Hound Dawg will put you on the fish! Thank you Rick, Garren and Ray for everything we will be back in the future. You will not be disappointed when you book this charter, they absolutely made this a trip that I will never forget with my daughter.

I highly recommend Hound Dawg Charters! My family went on a full day fishing charter August 6. Seas were rough in the morning due to a recent tropical storm. Captain Rick and First Mate Eddie were top-rate! Rough seas or no, they took us out trolling and we caught a tuna on the way out. Rick and Eddie repeatedly found great places to fish and we ended up busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest! We brought back about 30 gorgeous mahi mahi, even when other boats were having trouble finding the bites. Eddie worked non-stop- either helping us hook our fish or restring new bait to help the next trip out. Rick and Eddie have been doing this a long time and their expertise shows. They are knowledgeable, and willing to share stories and information. Super nice to talk to. The boat is wonderful as well- very comfortable and roomy, and well appointed. Gear is top-notch. We are planning our next trip already (will be looking for sailfish in the winter) and will definitely go with Hound Dawg!

Even though the seas were quite rough and the fish didn’t want to cooperate fully both Captain Rick and 1st Mate Garren did everything they could to give us a truly amazing experience. My son was so happy catching what he could and just being out on the water taking it all in. Captain Rick is so experienced navigating the waters and finding the best spots to fish while Garren taught us so much not only about fishing techniques but also the water and surrounding area in general. Thank you Hound Dawg Charter for making Carson’s graduation present exactly what he wanted!

The guys onboard “Hound Dawg Charters Islamorada” know how to catch fish! When the sailfish weren’t biting, the guys put us on the some Tuna and a 70+ lb Amberjack!!! Wow. Great time and great success. 😊

We recently had the most incredible fishing experience. The captain was not only highly skilled in navigating the waters but also incredibly knowledgeable about the best fishing spots in the area. Despite the bad weather, the captain and first mate made the most out of the time we had on the water. If you’re looking for deep sea fishing, look no further. The crew worked hard to set us up for tuna and mahi mahi. We had 2 adults and 3 teens, at one point we each had a mahi mahi on at the same time.

Captain Rick and mate Darrin did an excellent job putting us on the fish. We had two young kids with us. Darrin was a great teacher and helped everyone get a fish. They were very accommodating to our needs as a family, but also aggressive fishermen. Great trip, I would definitely book it again.

My family and I had an excellent day on the Hound Dawg. Despite overactive sharks, high winds & some heavier swells, Captain Scott had no issue getting us on some fish. We started off the day getting warmed up catching live bait. We then trolled for tuna before chumming for yellowtail, resulting in a shortage in storage space in our freezer! We then tried for Amberjack and Mackerel, although the sharks were too plentiful for us to land any. Both the Captain and first mate Ryan were kind, professional, hospitable and experienced. Their years of experience clearly paid off. They read the boat well, catering to both our avid & inexperienced anglers to ensure everyone caught fish & had fun. Captain Scott maneuvered the boat & found the fish as well as anyone, and the first mate was efficient, helpful and very friendly. Whether you’re looking for good conversation, a beautiful & clean boat, or to catch some good fish, the Hound Dawg will not disappoint. 10/10, we will be returning in future years no doubt.
