Poppa Wahoo – Veteran Owned
Spend a day on the Poppa Wahoo and let them show you what makes the fishing in Islamorada so memorable! With an experienced local captain at the helm and an ambitious crew hustling for you, you'll be on the fish in no time!
Poppa Wahoo is a 54' Hatteras sportfishing boat that holds up to 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials. There are bathrooms on board for your convenience.
All equipment, tackle and licenses are included. Live bait may be used and you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
Depending on the season, you might hook into Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, Grouper, Snapper, Sailfish, Marlin, Swordfish, Tuna, and whatever else is biting.
On these trips, it's common to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. For the more adventurous among you, there's spearfishing and Shark fishing.
If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Young children must wear life vests and you should plan to provide your own vest for your precious cargo. What's more, this vessel is wheelchair accessible.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. It's customary to tip the Mate 20% to show your appreciation.
Don't leave home without a hat, polarized sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray).
We will provide bottled water and light snacks. If you'd like to bring other drinks, alcoholic beverages, and more substantial fare please feel free to do so. We can provide catered food and a cook if interested!
The click of a button is the only thing keeping you from a great day on the water with Poppa Wahoo!

Had a great time woth Poppa Wahoo. Cpt. George was very intentive on what we wantes to catch. He first put on a slew of yellowtail snapper. And they were some large ones too. After that we headed to hunt Mahi. We found blackfin tuna instead. no issues there. Put some of them on the boat too. The first mate Ricky did a great job. Very knowledgeable woth fishing in the Keys. I would toldly recommend Poppa Wahoo for your next trip. Thank you for providing my family and I a great time and memories. Will charter them again when we come again. Fish On!!!

Captain Rick and Wyatt were best ever! Great time, tons of fish and accomidating! will have a ton of footage coming and cant wait for next trip!
The boat is beautiful, clean, and features comfortable A/C and restrooms. But what sets them apart is the VIP concierge service. Arriving at 7:00 AM to find our exact coffee, drink preferences, and breakfast sandwiches already onboard was a game-changer. They take care of you from start to finish. If you’re debating which charter to choose, save yourself the time and book this one right now!
