Eric Scoble Blackwater Charters

Whale Harbor Marina Mm 83 Over…
Islamorada FL, United States

Captain Eric Scoble’s Black Water Charters runs fishing trips around the flats, estuaries, and creeks of Islamorada, FL. These waters are filled with fish year round. It’s fun, both for less experienced anglers and veteran fishermen.

Captain Eric Scoble commandeers an 18’ Hewes that can accommodate up to two anglers, and which he custom built for shallow water fishing. She is powered by a 115 HP Suzuki engine.

The boat’s fishing gear is almost entirely light tackle, and is specifically designed for this type of fishing. Shimano, Daiwa and Penn International products are all commonly used and provided on board.

Captain Scoble is fluent in both fly and light tackle fishing, and is committed to showing you the flats fishing potential of the Florida Keys.

Captain Eric was born and raised in Islamorada, five generations strong. He’s been fishing the local waters for more than 25 years, mostly targeting species such as Bonefish, Permit, Snook, Redfish and Tarpon. He has competed with success in a variety of local fishing tournaments, including the Redbone Celebrity Tournament, Islamorada Sailfish, The Backcountry Challenge and many others.

Captain Scoble’s expertise isn’t limited only to the Keys either; he’s done lots of trips to the Bahamas and back on a variety of private boats.

At the end of the day, whatever type of trip you choose, Eric wants to make sure it is an experience you will not forget. All fishing equipment, flies, live and artificial bait, as well as the required fishing licenses are covered and provided by Captain Scoble. Commercial life jackets are available for kids, but for more comfort parents might want to bring their own vests for children. Bring food and drinks. Pack sunblock, a cap, sunglasses, and light clothes. And don’t forget your camera.

We fished the bridges along Rt 1. I caught some good sized tarpons which jumped all over and gave me a great fight. Capt. Eric was born and raised in the keys and knows the waters and fish.  He makes the trip fun as he puts you on the fish and all you have to do is reel them. In fact I booked an extra day (third in a row) with Capt. Eric based on my first two days fun experiences.  Give him a try, you won’t regret it!

Captain Eric was a blast. Fun, friendly and very knowledgeable. He put us on fish straight away and took us to some very secluded “not your normal flats” locations. We got a late start due to weather but enjoyed talking with other captains and anglers in the mean time. Captain Eric made up for the lost time and we were thankful for the cloudy day! We will definitely be rebooking.
