Eric Scoble Blackwater Charters

Whale Harbor Marina Mm 83 Over…
Islamorada FL, United States

Captain Eric Scoble commandeers an 18’ Hewes that can accommodate up to 2 anglers, and which he custom built for shallow water fishing. This boat is made for getting up on the flats, to give you the best possible chance to get on the fish. The boat’s fishing gear is almost entirely light tackle, and is specifically designed for this type of fishing. Shimano, Daiwa and Penn International products are all commonly used and provided on board. Captain Scoble is fluent in both fly and light tackle fishing, and is committed to showing you the flats fishing potential of the Florida Keys.

Captain Eric was born and raised in Islamorada, five generations strong. He’s been fishing the local waters for more than 25 years, mostly targeting species such as Bonefish, Permit, Snook, Redfish and Tarpon, and has also been successfully involved in a variety of local fishing tournaments, including the Redbone Celebrity Tournament, Islamorada Sailfish, The Backcountry Challenge and many others. Captain Scoble’s expertise isn’t limited only to the Keys either; he’s done lots of trips to the Bahamas and back on a variety of private boats.

When it comes to fishing the Keys, the options aplenty. You can fish inshore around the island, or take a trip into the Everglades National Park which is vibrant with wildlife. Everglades is a popular choice for those who wish to experience the natural beauty of untouched land and more than 250 different species of endangered and protected fish and wildlife. At the end of the day, whatever type of trip you choose, Eric wants to make sure it is an experience you will not forget. All fishing equipment, flies, live and artificial bait, as well as the required fishing licenses are covered and provided by Captain Scoble.

Great experience with Eric.  First time back country fishing but extensive experience with guided charters.  My 10 year old son and I had an amazing time.  We chose Eric because of his experience and it certainly showed. Would use him again definately.

Backcountry fishing is in full swing. We caught some nice Snook this day and a variety of other species. Weather is not a factor when you’re fishing the Backcountry because you have the islands to block the wind and your in very shallow water!! .

Caught variety of fish at multiple locations. Snook, redfish, snapper along with jacks. Captain had good locations and very familiar with backwater country. Would recommend booking charter with Capt. Eric. Only reason boat not rated higher is due to captain’s boat under repair and needed to borrow friend’s boat for charter. The fish didn’t seem to notice the difference.

Sorry Jim that we could not use my boat but it’s in the shop getting a brand-new motor put on.  Also getting a new paint job!  This is the time of year when we get everything in order for the upcoming season. But you still had a stellar fishing day!

Eric was more disappointed than I that the bite for us was so “slow”!
