Madeira Marlin Charters invites you to experience fishing aboard “Sorted.” This is a chance to catch the fish of a lifetime, while enjoying idyllic conditions aboard a comfortable, spacious boat, with excellent food and drinks.
Sorted is a 35’ Luhrs Express offshore boat, powered by twin 315 HP Yanmar engines. She has a custom cockpit, a Pompanette fighting chair, and a raised comfortable seating area with an open view of all the action. The boat also features the latest technology in GPS and fishfinders and a private bathroom. It can seat up to 6 people and there is accommodation available for up to 4 people.
Striking fish species you’ll target are prized among sport fishermen for their size, speed, and fighting abilities. You’ll mostly go after Blue and White Marlin, Wahoo, Bluefin, Bigeye, and Skipjack Tuna. It’s also possible to catch Triggerfish, Amberjack, and Barracuda.
Your captain Howard Williams has over 14 years of fishing experience in Madeira and he’s a keen game-fishing enthusiast. He will provide you with top-notch fishing equipment – Penn VSX reels, Pinnacle rods, and Black Bart lures. Lunch packages are provided for 4 guests on a full day trip but there’s an extra charge for additional people. Get in touch with the captain to discuss the details for an airport transfer.

A big thank you to the captain and the mate, they were both incredibly friendly, welcoming, and professional. The boat was clean, well-maintained, and equipped with everything needed for a great day on the water. We had a few bites shortly after leaving the harbor, but unfortunately the fish came off the hooks. We did catch some fish, although not the species we were hoping for. That’s just part of fishing! Overall, we had a very enjoyable trip and would definitely recommend Sorted to anyone looking for a professional and enjoyable fishing experience in Madeira.

Big Game Marlin Fishing on June 29, 2026 • 2 adultsI booked this trip specifically to target blue marlin, and Captain Alex and mate Jamie delivered. Both were friendly, communicative, and genuinely professional, true anglers who clearly love what they do. Sorted is set up properly for the job, with brand new Shimano Tiagras and top of the line marlin lures. Alex had been reporting the catches in the days leading up to our date, so expectations on catch probability were set accurately. Late in the day we hooked up and landed a 375 lb blue marlin. It put up a great fight. Unfortunately it got tail wrapped on the way in, and despite the crew's attempts to revive it boatside, we weren't able to release it. This fish was a bucket list catch for me, and the crew is the reason it happened. A nice bonus: a Bryde's whale surfaced near us while we were trolling. Fresh drinks, fruit, and snacks were offered throughout the day. As far as I'm aware, we were the only boat out of the Calheta marina fleet to land a marlin on our date. Huge thanks to Alex and Jamie. If I'm ever back in Madeira, I'll fish with them again without hesitation. Highly recommended.

Half Day – Bottom Fishing on August 29, 2024 • 3 adults • 1 childEnjoyed a nice few hours chasing fish. The fishing was, unfortunately, very poor, however the skipper kept plugging away. In the end we came away with a few fish, nothing massive but a genuinely enjoyable day. Do not hesitate to book a trip with Sorted as you will be well looked after.

Great two days on ‘Sorted’
Sportfishing on July 7, 2025 • 3 adultsMy two young sons and I spent a couple of days fishing for Blue Marlin on ‘Sorted’. Captain Howard and his lovely wife Anne looked after us well with a warm welcome and homemade lunch. Boat was comfortable, powerful and well equipped with all fishing gear. I would highly recommend a day out on ‘Sorted’. We will be back.
