Hey Babe Charters – Orange Beach 

This was a Father’s Day trip organized by the wives and gifted to us. Captain Mark was easy to communicate with and everything was clearly communicated with so there was no surprised fees or additional costs. The boat was well maintained and the full cabin AC was a blessing on a hot day. We caught and kept our limit of snapper. Deckhand Lucy made sure we were doing everything right to get us hooked up on the fish. There was 8 of us on the charter and besides a little sea sickness, everyone had a great time. We would def book with Hey Babe again.

We went deep sea fishing right after a tropical storm. We were all worried that we were not going to catch fish due to the ocean being disrupted. The Captain worked very hard to put us in the best place to catch the biggest fish. We ended up catching a 22.8 lb red snapper along with 13 other very good size snappers. I also caught an amberjack that we released due to it not being in season. We are very very pleased with how our trip turned out! 10/10

We had such a great time with Hey Babe Charters! We were two families vacationing together, and they made sure everyone had an amazing experience. Lucy, the deckhand, was wonderful and even helped our youngest anytime she had a moment. We caught our limit on snapper and made so many great memories. Highly recommend Hey Babe Charters for a fun, family-friendly fishing trip!

Overall, the boat was nice, and both Captain Brad and the deckhand were friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. We caught fish and had a good experience on the water. My reason for leaving this review is to make future customers aware of the tipping expectations. The website states that the deckhand works for tips and that a 20% tip is customary. After our $2,500 charter, I tipped $85. Later, Captain Brad called me to explain that 20% is the customary tip and that the deckhand depends on tips for compensation. While the website does mention this, customers should understand that the expectation appears to be much closer to a standard 20% gratuity than what many people might interpret as simply an optional tip. For a $2,500 trip, that means budgeting approximately another $500 in gratuity. I also felt there could have been better communication regarding the sea conditions and options if the trip became too rough. The captain did tell us we could turn around if needed, but I was unclear whether that would have resulted in a refund, partial refund, or rescheduling. Again, I have no complaints about the boat, the captain’s skills, or the deckhand’s work ethic. My review is primarily to help future customers understand the tipping expectations before booking.

Captain and crew were awesome! Got us out on some red snapper real quick! Had a group of 9 and all of us caught fish left and right. Had a great experience!

Shawn and Ralf were awesome. My friends and family had a great time . They put us on the fish. We caught some real good Red snapper. It’s not always about the catching though, a good captain and mate can make a day of no fish just as fun and these two guys are the best. I highly recommend fishing with Hey Babe Charters. We will definitely be going on another trip with them and recommending them to everyone we know back home in GA!

We have been coming to Orange Beach/Gulf Shores for more than a dozen years and always take a deep sea fishing charter when we are in town. This was probably the best charter we have ever been on! Capt Mark and Capt Sean are simply amazing, especially with kids. They have great spots where we caught our limit of very large snapper, and when my 13 year old son asked if they had ever caught a shark, they asked him if he wanted to catch one! They set him up with a rig and bait and talked him through what to expect, and then coached and cheered him while he pulled a 300 pound bull shark up to the boat for some great photos before cutting him loose. It was an experience of a life time for him! And after all that work for almost an hour to pull that big boy in, he curled up in the very comfy air conditioned cabin for a nap while we fished for beeliners. A great day with folks who treated us like friends, made us comfortable and helped fill our freezer with delicious snapper. Our 11 year old daughter and 76 year old father had a great time and caught fish as well. We cannot recommend them enough and we will definitely be back! If you are looking for a fun, family-friendly charter, this is the one!

We had a great time on “hey babe”! We had 3 adults and 4 kids aged 7-9. We started our trip early in the morning at 6am and were to our first fishing spot around 7. Lucy, our deckhand, taught us all how to bait our hooks and drop our line and we immediately started pulling up huge red snapper! It was so much fun seeing the kids fight these huge fish. We got to keep 2 snapper per person so we came home with tons of fish! Towards the end of our trip my husband caught a Cobia, they said it was the first one that had been caught this year, we thought that was pretty awesome. The captain maneuvered the boat to help fight this huge fish and then helped wrangle it in the boat. We got back to the docks and they took pictures for us with our phones and cleaned the fish for us. Overall this was a great experience that we would love to do again. The boat was very clean with a working bathroom and running water to wash your hands. The captain and deck hand were both super helpful! 10/10 recommend “hey babe”
