Tradewind Charters – Aloha Kai 

Create fantastic family memories at sea on your Oahu vacation by combining a few ocean activities together with Tradewind Charters. In addition to our family-friendly reef fishing activity, guests will have the opportunity to swim and snorkel with sea turtles & reef fish and witness our humpback whales in the winter months. These trips are great for families and groups gathered for birthdays, pre/post wedding celebrations, corporate events, and team building. Not everyone aboard needs to be a keen angler as there is plenty to see on this trip!

You’ll be aboard a massive 50’ Corinthian catamaran that was recently built in 2017. This boat is built for comfort and includes a toilet, ice boxes for drinks, a bar, catering, and all required safety equipment.

You’ll use light spinning tackle for some catch and release fishing on the abundant reef fish over our coral and lava rock reefs. Triggerfish are the main catch (locally known as Humuhumunukunukuapaa) but there’s plenty more out there! The water is very clear, allowing you to view lots of sea turtles along with the occasional monk seal and eagle ray on the surface. You’ll cruise the south shore’s smooth waters for everyone’s comfort so seasickness should not be a problem.

All fishing gear is provided as is octopus for bait. No license is required for saltwater fishing in Hawaii. Non-alcoholic drinks are provided but you are welcome to BYOB or order from the onboard bar. Snacks can be ordered in advance but you are also welcome to take your own food. As well as fishing, if your Hawaii bucket list also included a swim, snorkel, sightseeing, and whale watching then hop aboard.
