The boat you'll be fishing on is called 'Ruckus,' a beautiful 36' Topaz Express. This express cruiser is powered by twin 440 HP Yanmar engines, which enables a smooth ride. She has a swim step that can be used as a scuba diving platform. Once you're done with diving, you can wash off the salt and sand in the boat's hot water shower. She also features a very spacious back deck and cushioned and covered seating area.
Your adventure starts at the Kewalo Basin Harbor. Just minutes after departure, rods are out and lines are in the water. Get ready for some of the best fishing in Oahu, where you can catch everything from Ono (Wahoo), Blue Marlin, and Ahi (Yellowfin Tuna) to Mahi Mahi and much more.
If we go out and have a good day and catch a bunch of fish we will come back in take some pictures and start cutting some fish for you guys and some fish will stay with the boat. Typically about 25 lbs +/- of uncut fish is what we will clean for you depending on the catch. If we have a slow day and only catch a few fish we will cut and bag them for you. 50lb fish policy, so any fish over 50lb we typically don't cut for the customers. But depending on the catch and the time of the year we may cut it and give you some and the rest stays with the boat. For more details please ask.
The boat will provide your fishing equipment, coolers and ice so the only things you need to bring are your snacks and drinks for the day. Please do not bring any glass bottles and absolutely NO BANANAS.

From the get-go the crew was professional. The we caught one fish about an hour in, second one I lost right at the boat. After about 3 more hours of not even a bite we had 5 poles hit all within 15 seconds. Was crazy. We landed all 5 of them, turned around to go back through that spot. Caught 5 more. Mahi Mahi on the grill tonight. The crew was helpful, didn't mind us jumping in to help with getting the fish in, they were as excited as us catching so many in just a short time. The captain drove the boat with skill to keep the rocking down as much as possible. The deck hand was very experienced and just fun to fish with. Best fishing experience of my life.
This was one of my top three deep sea trips. This round i took my son for his first trip and all i wanted was for him have a great time and a chance for big game. Capt. Ulu and team did jot disappont, they were able to get my son and nephew each on their own Marlin catches. Great service, excellent navigating rough wsrers, and put us on Marlin, tuna and other game. great memories for my son.
Captain Ulu and First Mate Moses were amazing! Their knowledge and skills are top notch. I highly recommend Ruckus for your next fishing trip! The 10 hour timeframe wasn’t enough! Definitely coming back!

got a late start, but the captian was able to get us on fish!. My sons caught some nice aku and we even hooked up on a Marlin that unfortunately broke off, but not before we were able to get a look at it as it jumped out of the water.

Absolutely amazing charter! The captain and first mate were awesome — super friendly, made us feel comfortable right away, and had us on the fish fast. In just 3 hours we landed four nice‑size mahi mahi. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!

Our founder, Ray Collier, started working on family boats in the Gulf of Mexico (Pensacola) at a very young age. He did sportfishing, SCUBA diving, snorkeling, shrimping and various other activities. At age 18, Ray was already a boat owner and operator. It was also at that same age when he decided to join the United States Marine Corps, where he served for 11 faithful years. Ray has spent more than 25 years on boats and has worked in Hawaii for more than 10 years, often with big-name companies in the industry. He became a licensed boat captain in 2008. After spending so many years working for others, Ray decided to start his own small business. Today, Ruckus Sportfishing and Diving continues to thrive.
