Captain James Bertrand invites you to join him onboard Reely Miss B'Haven a 24' Sailfish center console. Built in 2019, her design allows for easy movement from aft to fore while chasing the bite, especially useful when hooking up trophy-sized predators. She can accommodate up to 4 people.
The boat is rigged with the latest and greatest electronics that include a Minn Kota Terrova trolling motor with Spotlock, a Lowrance 4G Radar and Lowrance Carbon 12 chart/sonar, Sirius XM Marine Weather, Bluetooth stereo, sat phone, and personal locator beacon, and also padded seating all around to keep you comfortable on the water.
All the required safety equipment is found on board as safety is a priority for all of the guests.
Looking to test the waters and do some light fishing? The inshore 4-hour trip will see you go after the A-listers of inshore fishing: Redfish, Spotted Seatrout, and Flounder. For the best chance to experience the full offer the waters of Alabama have to offer, head out on the 6-hour trip.

He walked them through how to work certain tackle, bait their hooks properly and how far down to drop the bait. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area and put us on the fish right away. We targeted Snapper throughout the trip and caught several. In the end my girls had a blast and want to do it again.

We got our limit in red snapper and then went exploring for big big fish. We had two that just kicked our butts. Blue Water Charters knows there stuff and take care of you on the water. If the fish aren’t on a spot they have plenty others places. I can’t say how awesome they are it was a fantastic trip. I will be booking with them again.

4 Hour Trip – Inshore on September 16, 2018 • 2 adultsListen to your captain! I originally booked a four hour inshore trip, planning for speckled trout and other inshore fish. On the morning of the trip, Capt. James recommended we try going out nearshore due to the quality of the inshore waters, which were stained from recent rains upstate. Great advice. We motored out for about 30 minutes, the two of us, on essentially a brand new boat, smooth, clean and easy to fish. Dropped a line in 60-65 ft of water and got a hard bite on the first cast. Lost that one, but it was steady with red and vermillion snapper for the next hour. Reds out of season so just brought home the vermillion. Hooked the amberjack about midway through that hour and it took a good 15 minutes to boat. Captain James is knowledgeable, personable and a very pleasant fishing partner and mentor. He cleaned the fish dockside and packed them in ice for my return home. All communications with Erica at Blue Water Charters were easy and I appreciated the reminders that were provided. Top quality support and management. I highly recommend Blue Water Charters.

6 Hour Trip – Offshore on August 22, 2018 • 4 adultsMy husband, father and I all wanted to book a deep sea fishing trip on our visit to Fort Morgan. It was our first and we haven’t been to the area much so I got on fishing booker to investigate on local captains and came across Captain James; I also found his company’s Facebook page (Bluewater charters LLC) and saw he had phenomenal reviews so I booked him... and man am I glad I did! He was the nicest, most friendly guy, extremely knowledgeable and personable! We caught quite a bit of fish and he worked very hard to put us on fish during our trip! When we come back to the area we will undoubtedly be giving him a call! His equipment and boat are all top quality but overall his friendly and courteous personality was what set him apart!! Thank you Captain James! I wish I hadn’t battled sea sickness and could have fished more but we really enjoyed our time with you, can’t praise you enough!!

There wasn’t a dull moment in the 4 hours. We caught several huge fish that were fun to fight on the way up and plenty of good eating ones. Captain James was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful! It was a great family atmosphere and Captain James made us feel right at home. This is the best fishing experience for your money!! I highly recommend Blue Water Charters to anyone coming to Orange Beach or even Gulf Shores.

He brought us out about 3 miles off shore to fish for red snapper. We immediately start getting a bites and pulling up nice sized fish. The whole day was that way. We caught mangrove, red snapper, kingfish, and a few other species. Captain was very knowledgeable and personable. He made it very comfortable to be on board and showed incredible enthusiasm. I highly recommend a trip with blue water. We will be booking again next year

Captain Bertrand was great. He put his on some areas where they were fish, we just weren’t landing them. But he also kept bringing us to new spots where we could finally catch some and once we got there, we tore them up. I would highly recommend using him and plan on using him again.

- Live bait (Live bait is a key component of our trips, both inshore and offshore. We will spend a little time at the beginning of trip catching live bait when it is needed. Many times the captain will have live bait ready also. )

We really do live in paradise and I will share with you all the things I love about OBA. I have been fishing and boating my entire life. I was born in Louisiana, so that means I was born with a fishing license tied to my toes! We offer a variety of fishing trips that are perfectly suited to anglers of all ages and abilities! As for the species on offer, get ready to come face-to-gills with anything from the elusive 'Cobia' to the 'Amberjack' more commonly known as the 'Reef Donkey' when you hook up on one of these bad boys, you will quickly understand the reason behind the nickname. Vermillion, Lane and Mangrove Snapper are also on the A list, as well as Triggerfish, Grouper and of course the famous Red Snapper that this area has become well known for!
