FWJO – River Fishing

These waters hold game fish like Brown Trout, Walleye, and more, depending on conditions. On these trips, it’s common to jig using light tackle.

Children are welcome, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Snacks are permitted onboard — bring your favorites!

You'll be dropping lines from a 17' PolarKraft jet boat with room for 2 passengers. It has all the essentials. Capt. James will supply rods and reels for you, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.

Before coming aboard, it will be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.

It's always wise to bring sunblock (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
