Broke Tip Charter is a family-owned and operated company that specializes in Gulf fishing trips. It is run by a husband and wife team, who love being on the water and want you to have a great time.

We will have the boat ready to go when you get there. Captain Kent will go over any safety concerns and answer any questions you have before we leave the dock.

Your boat for the day will be a comfortable 29’ Luhrs. She is a beautiful vessel with a flybridge, a cabin, and a toilet. There is enough room for up to 6 anglers to fish, relax, and enjoy their day. Also, there’s plenty of shade and space for enjoying the ride. The boat comes powered by twin inboard Yanmar Turbo diesel engines, which contributes greatly to your comfort and ensures cruising with ease. The boat is fully outfitted with everything you need for a successful fishing trip. It is docked in Niceville, which is on the north side of the Choctawhatchee Bay, just a short drive from anywhere on the Emerald Coast.

With Broke Tip Charter, we usually stay in state waters (up to 9 miles out); you will be able to fish for Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Red Snapper, Spanish and King Mackerel, Barracuda, Amberjack, Triggerfish, Wahoo, Grouper, Redfish, Trout, and a number of other species. Methods include trolling, bottom fishing, tight-lining live bait, or sight fishing.

Trips include dead bait or live bait (depending on availability), tackle, ice, licenses, and a complimentary fish cleaning and bagging service. You are welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks with you.

Please note departure times are flexible and will be discussed with the captain prior to the trip. If you need a certain departure time, this can also be arranged.

Captain Kent is the man

Captain Kent called several days before the trip to find out exactly what we were looking for. I told him my teenage daughter really wanted to catch a shark so she could have a better picture than the boys have. He said we'll get it done. He called twice more before the trip. When we got there he and his son Dallas were as nice as good be. We went to, I think, 5 spots but had no luck. I could tell he was getting a little frustrated with us having no luck. Tried trolling while going to one more spot. No luck trolling either just trying to catch anything. Finally at a sandbar he spotted a shark and dropped anchor. It was kind of fun listening to him encouraging the shark to bite. And it finally happened. Got a great video for my daughter and a once in a lifetime memory. Worth every penny. I really don't think you can go wrong by booking with Captain Kent!

Great trip with our kids

Our trip with Kent went very well. Unfortunately, due to the season, we caught only two small red snappers but it was not for a lack of effort! Kent spent a lot of time trying to get us in a good spot and even tried a couple of different fishing methods. Luck was not on our side, but Kent made every effort and really wanted to help us make that big catch. The ride on the boat from the bay to the gulf was beautiful, and we even spotted some dolphins pointed out by the captain. This trip was very competitively priced, especially compared to booking from a Destin charter. Book with Broke Tip, you won’t be disappointed.

growing up in the area, i didn’t want to have to drive to Destin to go fishing & found Capt. Kent in Niceville through the FishingBooker app. He lived up to & exceeded the reviews. Captain Kent and his wife, Bobbie, were great hosts! They told us whay to expect and what to do. The ocean was choppy but we caught lots of fish! Captain Kent fileted it and we had our catch cooked at a local restaurant and it was delicious!! They are hard workers and we had a great time. Definitely worth the short drive to Niceville.
