Capt. Rudy fishes with his son Michael, the first mate. This dynamic duo caters to their customers’ requests while staying in tune with the fishing conditions on the day. Rudy began this charter company in memory of his dad – he hopes to pass the love of fishing his father instilled into him onto his customers.
They will guide you through the full range of sportfishing techniques available on Florida’s famous east coast. Whether you want to kite fish for Sailfish, bottom fish or drift over the reefs and wrecks, they’ll walk you through the experience.
Your trip will take place aboard a 28’ Grady White boat. This classic vessel has ample space for up to 4 anglers fishing at once. Fitted with serious fishing amenities, a hard top, and seating, this boat will let you get the best of offshore and nearshore fishing. The enclosed restroom and kitchen mean even longer trips will be comfortable.
You’ll be provided with quality rods and reels by Penn and Shimano. Lures are also included in the price, and quality live bait is available for an extra fee. You’ll also find light snacks and drinks waiting for you, so all you need bring is any additional food and drinks.
You can also have your catch mounted, for an additional cost. Capt. Rudy can make a small replica of your catch, or make a life-size mount based on measurements of the fish. To view replicas and fish mounts go to photos and videos! Each angler will also receive a small gift and you’ll also have an opportunity to purchase a T-shirt if you wish.

June Fishing Charter 2025
4 Hour Trip – Morning on June 18, 2025
Rudy and so were great !!! Super friendly and knowledgeable. Both fully allow you to take the reel and bring in the fish doesn’t matter how big or small the fish. Live bait was key to larger fish. Wet out in off singer island ocean caught a shark , 5 lb barracuda, 16lb tuna , grouper, strawberry grouper , lots of fish . Rudy and Mike also filet fish for us and gave recommendations for restaurants to take our fish to eat. We enjoyed two awesome dinners from our catches !!!!! Awesome time highly recommend.

We had a great fishing trip with Captain Rudy and First Mate Mike. From the moment we stepped aboard, they made us feel welcome, safe, and excited for the day ahead. Captain Rudy is clearly a seasoned pro—his knowledge of the waters and ability to find the best fishing spots was unmatched. We were pulling in fish in no time! Mike, the first mate, was equally amazing. He worked nonstop to keep our lines ready, baited, and untangled. He was super friendly, patient with beginners, and had a great sense of humor that kept everyone in high spirits. The boat was clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. Whether you’re an experienced angler or brand new to fishing, this team makes it easy to have a fun and successful day. 6 Hour Trip on May 30, 2025
We went on a six hour fishing trip with Papa Bears Charters. When we got there, they were ready to go. We went a couple of miles out and caught tuna and mahi. We then came closer to shore and we caught snapper and king fish. They were knowledgeable and patient. I appreciated they had put bait the hooks and cast them for us. At one point, we were reeling in three fish at once! My family and I had a great experience and made wonderful memories. Thank you so much!

We really enjoyed our fishing trip with Captain Rudy! He was very friendly, helpful and made it exactly the experience we were hoping for. After we got aboard the boat we headed out right away and almost immediately had fish on the line as we did some trolling on the way to the other fishing grounds. We continued to catch multiple types of fish and even pulled in a shark to the side of the boat that hit one of our live bait. At the end of the trip Captain Rudy and his son expertly cleaned and filleted our catch and even recommended somewhere nearby that would cook it up for us since we were visiting from out of town. I highly recommend Papa Bear fishing charters to anyone and any experience level in fishing!

My father brought me fishing as a small child. I had my first boat when I was 16 years old. Since then I have had boats as big as 32'. I have my son as my first mate and have my wife fill in sometimes. I have always loved being out on the water fishing with my family. I became a charter captain so I can pass this on to other people to enjoy. I fish out of lakeworth inlet and target areas from the breakers hotel to Hobe Sound when fishing the reefs. We offer a variety of trips from 4 hours to 8 hours. The 6 hour and 8 hour trips include some trolling for mahi and tuna. The 4 hour trips are for bottom fishing the reefs. I also give the option to troll on these trips for 100 fuel allowance. This will grant 1 hour of offshore trolling. We make your day fun!!!! We also offer trips to Bimini in the Bahamas. 4 and 5 days trips.
