he's definitely experienced & very accommodating. it was 100° we brought in more fish than I would have expected on such a hot day. 5 person trip 23 walleye some of the biggest perch I've ever seen in the lake. Broke of at least a 4' musky. It was a tough loss but that's why they call it fishing not catching. Pass up captain Rick and its your loss.Thanks for the hard work captain!

Rick was a great captain. We had a great time with him. he got us on some great fish, was fun and patient. we had a few teens with us for their first walleye trip. Rick made it a freat experience and we killed it!

The Captain of the Boat, Capt Rick was a great service provider, he man the boat and service was great from beginning to end!!!

My brother came to town for a visit and wanted to go fishing, so we booked Captain Rick for a half day morning charter for walleye fishing. Fortunately we had perfect weather and the fish were biting. Not only that but we kept him very busy running 6 lines and he took care of literally everything but reeling them in. He was constantly doing about 10 things at once keeping the lines set and making sure we were having a good time. He also filleted and packaged our catch up for us. Rick is very knowledgeable about the lake and taught me a ton about fishing here. I live here but haven't been out fishing before so it was very cool that he shared a lot of his knowledge with me. I would definitely recommend booking with him.

First of all, I am an avid fisherman from south Georgia. My dad worked in Detroit for Ford Motor company prior to moving to Georgia to marry my mom. It wasn't the job that he spoke the most about from his time in Detroit, It was the Walleye fish that he would catch that he was the most fond of. I could almost see him drool when he spoke of the white flaky meat that had better taste than any of the fresh water fish here in the south. Fast forward 50yrs. My dad has passed on and I have retired. Bucket List #1. Catch and eat Walleye from the Detroit River. Not knowing anything about how to catch Walleye, I decided I would charter a boat. I searched the W.W.W. to find a Fishing Charter. Eastside Fishing Charter had very positive reviews so, I decided to go with them. I am usually somewhat skeptical about reviews because they are rarely a true reflection of a product or service. Lots of reviews are made by friends and family or even discounted product for a 5 star rating. However, If you are interested in chartering a boat out of the Detroit River/Lake Erie for Walleye, read this review and take it as the law of the land. I have been on several chartered fishing trip throughout the USA. Of them all, my experience with Captain Rick on Monday, May 6, 2024 was the most awesome chartered trip i have ever taken part of. Believe me when I say; Captain Rick is a "Charters Captain, Captain". The man has the personality of someone who has never met a stranger. His characteristics were sunny, entertaining and engaging. His knowledge of water and water safety, his knowledge of the species we pursued and his overall professionalism are unsurpassed. The man seemed to enjoy being out on the water as much as I did and remember, this was a bucket list fishing trip. My cousin Kenny had not been fishing in 45yrs, basically it was the first time he ever truly fished. Captain Rick was patient and informative with him and made both of our time on the water "An Adventure to Be Remembered". Cant give but 5 stars. In this case, I would like to give ten.

We came up here for my son’s 10 year trip. He wanted to fish a lake the pros fish. We hit the lottery picking Captain Rick and East Side Fishing Charters. Captain Rick was great, extremely personable and knowledgeable. He found fish when others were struggling to find them. Most importantly my son walked away saying that was the best thing he could have asked for.

Capt Rick went out of his way to make this an outstanding trip for us and paying extra attention to our 8 & 11 year old grandsons. He worked hard to find the fish, was very productive and even told us how to prepare the catch. Awesome captain and top of the line trip - we will definitely book with Eastside Fishing Charters again.

We had an awesome day on Lake St. Clair catching walleye and perch with Capt. Rick. We did an afternoon charter for four of us and were on the fish in no time. I would highly recommend East Side Fishing Charters if you are in the area and looking for a great time fishing. Thanks, Capt. Rick!

We went out on an amazing day with a very capable captain, Rick. Almost soon as he threw the line in, we had our first catch. My son can't remember the last time we fished and after this grad experience, he wants to go again. We had enough for us, and to spare. Rich is very ecouraging and easy to get along with.

Rick is an absolute amazing human being and did nothing but care for us the whole time. Showed us new techniques and put us on about 60 fish . WE will be coming back .
