Eastside Fishing Charters Llc
Get ready for a freshwater fishing adventure that'll see you cruising the Detroit River and Lake St. Clair for the catch of a lifetime! Come aboard Eastside Fishing Charters, located in Detroit, and let Captain Rick Jaehn show you just what this fantastic fishery has to offer.
Capt. Rick's fishing obsession started at a very young age. He started off fishing the banks of Lake St. Clair during summer vacation, and moved on to exploring the Detroit River with his older brother, who taught him the art of hand-lining for Walleye. He still loves reeling in this freshwater superstar, along with plenty of Perch and Musky! After 40 years of chasing many fish throughout Michigan, he decided to earn his Master Captain's license, and is now proudly USCG-certified.
Capt. Rick specializes in offering Walleye trips on the Detroit River, and trolling trips for trophy Musky, as well as Perch, on Lake St. Clair. Each adventure takes place on his 21' Lund aluminum vessel, perfectly built to cruise these freshwater fishing grounds. She can accommodate up to 4 anglers. On board, you'll find navigational gear to get you on fish efficiently, as well as safety equipment to ensure a comfortable ride.
Depending on the trip you choose, you'll be trolling or jigging for your dream catch. Capt. Rick will be on hand to help you refine your technique, as well as providing you with top-of-the-line Pflueger and St Croix rods and reels. He says it best himself: 'My equipment, lures, and background make for a exceptional charter fishing experience!'
If you're reeling in Walleye, your captain will clean, fillet, and pack your catch for you. Everything you need for a productive day on the water is included in your trip – all you need to bring along are your favorite snacks and drinks, and a valid fishing license. Come aboard Eastside Fishing Charters and get ready for a fantastic freshwater adventure!

he's definitely experienced & very accommodating. it was 100° we brought in more fish than I would have expected on such a hot day. 5 person trip 23 walleye some of the biggest perch I've ever seen in the lake. Broke of at least a 4' musky. It was a tough loss but that's why they call it fishing not catching. Pass up captain Rick and its your loss. Thanks for the hard work captain!

I appreciate the kind words. It was nice meeting you, your family and friends. Looking forward to the next trip. Thanks again!!

The experience was awesome we caught many quality sized walleye and a couple of nice perch. they tasted awesome and he filleted them for us after the trip. would recommend!

Hey Murtuza Thanks for the kind words. Looking forward to our next trip.

Went out with Capt Rick and 3 of my teens for Walleye on the Detroit River and despite miserable weather (near continuous rain) he made sure that we ended the day with filets for days! We would not hesitate to book another trip with Eastside Fishing Charters!

Thanks Ben

My name is Captain Rick Jaehn of Eastside Fishing Charters. I've been fishing for over 40 years. My fishing obsession started at a very young age, fishing the banks of Lake St. Clair everyday during summer vacation. I later was able to fish Detroit River at about 12 yrs old with an older brother that showed me the ropes of pulling wire (hand-lining) for Walleye. This inspired me to get my own boat and I honed my skills even more at catching Walleye with different methods. Soon there were different species of fish to catch and my obsession grew even more. After more than 40 years of chasing many species of fish throughout Michigan and surrounding states and countries, I decided to earn my Master Captains License so that that I would be able to share the fun, excitement, and experience of fishing with others. As part of my qualifications to run a successful fishing charter business, I received my CPR and First Aid Certification. I'm fully inspected by USCG and DNR, and I'm fully insured.
