Team Margarita Sportfishing – Shaka
Welcome to beautiful San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico. This extremely safe and tourist friendly small town has activities for all. Your guide Bryan Replogle has been a resident for twenty years and has visited for over 47. While he is an active kiteboarder, mountain biker, pickleball player, and more, his main passion is fishing, and helping others to catch fish.
You'll board Shaka at Marina San Carlos, centrally located in town with secure parking and multiple nearby shops, restaurants, and bars
Leaving the picturesque sheltered marina, we are usually greeted by beautiful ocean conditions. All steps will be taken to ensure your comfort, and we will not hesitate to return to port at your request, only charging for the time out on the water. A working head, air conditioning, fighting chair, and more are available, along with enough fishing tackle to fill a shop.
Seasons run into each other and there is always something to target. While a run to the Islamd (San Pedro Nolasco - 17mi.), or a run past the Reef (12mi.), are sometimes necessary, we are often loading up just miles from the dock.
November through May we are usually targeting California Yellowtail (an amberjack) on the troll, jigging, or casting, depending on conditions or the client's skills and/or wishes. Sierra and bonita fall in-between, bottomfishing is always an option, and inshore trolling for Gulf Grouper and cabrilla . Summer fishing usually provides some delicious Dorado for the table and a billfish release for the books. All fish are kept in the water for the safety of the fish and crew and the conservation of these slow growing species. As an experienced tournament winner, Bryan employs all techniques to ensure an enjoyable and sustainable catch. Dorado will be targeted on light gear when possible, and Bryan is a master of managing controlled chaos.
Finally, your captain Arturo and Bryan control, bleed, ice, and fully clean your catch. Bryan can vacuum seal and even smoke your fish.

Our experience aboard Shaka was absolutely fantastic! The boat was exceptionally clean and well-maintained, equipped with all the tackle and gear we could possibly need. The crew was attentive from start to finish, making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed throughout the trip. They worked hard to find the fish, and even when the bite slowed down, they went above and beyond to take us to see an incredible pod of dolphins — truly a memorable moment! Everyone on board was friendly, engaging, and easy to communicate with, which made the entire outing both fun and relaxing.
Arriving at the Marina, wasn't sure what to expect since everyone was saying fishing has been slow. 20 minutes into the trip we started catching fish! Bryan and Arturo kept us going for the 6 hours. It got slow at times, but they WORKED and kept us on the fish, lost a few, but not a bad day when everyone else on the water weren't catching much. Big time thank you to Bryan and Arturo! Will definitely be back!
Thank you guys! Soft mouths on the little ones. We'll get them next time!
Trust the captain and owner. I initially booked 8 hours, Bryan recommended splitting it into 2 four hour trips because the bite was in the AM, right out of the marina. caught 9 yellowtail on the first morning. None this trip.
Brian and Arturo were friendly, professional, made sure we caught plenty of fish and taught us a lot of interesting facts! We had a wonderful time and it was the highlight of our trip! Thank you!

Even though it was a slow bite. The crew worked exceptionally hard to find fish and were very easy to work with. These guys were great!!
