Come aboard and get ready to experience “The Reel Thing” when it comes to Mexican-style fishing!
This charter is owned by Miguel Ancona, a Puerto Aventuras native who prides himself in working alongside friendly, experienced captains and an experienced crew to provide a variety of top trips. The captains are local fishing fanatics who have been exploring these waters for a long time. With one of them at the helm of Kay Kib you’ll be exploring the hottest spots around and hooking some incredible species, no matter your age or skill level!
The Reel Thing is a 38’ Bertram 38 Special sportfishing vessel that can accommodate up to 12 guests, with plenty of room on board for ample angling action! She’s a true fishing machine that’s decked out with top-notch navigational gear, life jackets for all ages, a full toilet, and an ice box to keep your catch fresh. If you’re looking to battle some seriously big game fish, you’ll find outriggers and a fighting chair to help you reel ‘em in!
Speaking of big game, your captain will take you out to the local reefs and beyond for the chance to hook into world-famous fish such as Mahi Mahi, mighty Blue and White Marlin, Sailfish, Wahoo, and plenty more. You’ll also have the chance to reel in reef-dwellers such as Snappers, Groupers, and Barracuda. You’ll be trying out a range of techniques, including trolling, deep sea fishing, and bottom fishing.
Your trip includes rods, reels, tackle, and a fishing license. Join your crew and get ready to experience " The Reel Thing" A dockage tax of $15 per person will be charged.

Great day!
Very professional captain and crew. Prompt, professional and always working to maximize success and enjoyment. We split our 6 hours between trolling and bottom fishing. While we didn’t hook-up while trolling, we did very well bottom fishing catching around 30 fish, including two types of snapper, grouper, barracuda, needlefish and triggerfish. The lunch was superb. Fresh ceviche and guacamole with chips and fresh fruit. The only knock is that we spent half the time trolling the same waters close to shore with no success. Would have been better to burn a bit more fuel and try a bit further from land, but that didn’t dampen an otherwise productive and pleasant day.

These guys are enthusiastic and know where the fish are! 3/4 day was enough for us to Troll for Marlin and wahoo. Then deep see fish for grouper and Snapper. Hooked up on some huge fish that broke the line on the reef! Luckily most of our. At h made it through the shark Gauntlet!! That was cool by itself seeing them go after our catch! Fillet and ate our catch as soon as we hit the dock! 5 stars across the board!!
