Second Sport Charters invites you on a memorable fishing day on the prolific waters of Carolina Beach! Let Captain Daniel Harris show you the way to the best offshore bite in the area and come home with a brag-worthy catch.
You will be fishing out of 'Barbarino' – the captain's 37' Topaz sportfisher with twin 375 HP Caterpillar engines. The deck is spacious enough to easily accommodate up to 6 anglers and have them fishing at the same time.
Quality Shimano and Penn equipment will wait for you on the boat, as well as bait and a fighting chair, for when you hook a big one. Outriggers will help to extend your fishing reach, and there's a cooler on board to keep your catch fresh.
The boat sports an air-conditioned cabin with plenty of seating, a kitchen, and a private toilet. This means you'll travel and fish in full comfort. Barbarino is a lean fishing machine, perfectly suited for offshore fishing.
Capt. Daniel offers a wide array of trips targeting different species, so there's something for everyone. You'll mostly chase Spanish and King Mackerel and Bluefish on half day trips. Snappers, Amberjack, and the occasional Grouper are popular on 3/4 day and full day trips.
If you'd like to join the big leagues, book the offshore trip for favorites like Mahi Mahi, Triggerfish, Black Seabass, Sharks, and more. After the trip, the captain and the first mate can clean and fillet the catch for an additional charge.
Children of all ages are welcome on the expeditions with Capt. Daniel, he will provide the life vests for everyone. All you need to bring is food and drinks for the group, and leave everything else in your guide's capable hands.

3/4 Day Trip on May 3, 2025 • 4 adultsI enjoyed a fantastic six-hour trip out of Carolina Beach in May! The boat was in excellent condition, and Captain Dan and First Mate Ken were exceptional. This trip was a special birthday celebration for my 70-year-old father, who has limited mobility. The crew went above and beyond to accommodate his needs, as well as ours. We caught plenty of Spanish mackerel, and Ken kindly took the time to fillet the fish so they were ready to cook right off the dock. I highly recommend this charter if you're looking for a great experience in Carolina Beach!

Half Day Trip (PM) on July 7, 2024 • 6 adultsNow, let me preface this by saying this wasn’t what we expected BUT that was at no fault to the crew. We’d just never fished like that before, some (me) had never fished on a boat. That being said, the captain told me the day before that they caught 24 fish on Thursday, but hadn’t seen any the 24 hours since allowing me the opportunity to cancel and be refunded if I wanted to. It was for my boyfriend’s birthday, we were already there, and we weren’t going to cancel. The first hour there weren’t any fish and it was looking grim, but subsequently, we caught 9 fish :) Cameron was super helpful and friendly, he gutted and filleted our fish as well, and the Captain was great also. Highly recommend them!

It was a fun bonus feeding the pelicans the scraps!) we were celebrating our husbands birthdays and it was a fantastic day! Great stories and great company made for a fantastic day!

The crew was very nice and made us comfortable instantly. Cameron worked hard to give us the best experience possible. The whole family had a great time!

The trip was nice, however we didnt catch any fish! The captain stated it was a bad time of the season but we still enjoyed the ride also learned some things while out on the ocean. I would reserve again because I loved the ride!
Thanks for the 5, dont think we deserved it but it helps. One of those days for the Barbarino. Thank goodness they are not all like thar or I woukd have to stop fishing, a pastime and sport really love. Come again anytime and I will adjust your fee to make up for it. Just remind me. The trip was excellent! The Captain and deck hand did everything to include cleaning the fish. All we had to do was reel em in. Great experience!

The family of Captain Daniel Harris has spent over 90 years in North Carolina, and fishing became a part of the family tradition. Capt. Daniel was a first mate on several boats of different sizes during his college years and in time, fishing became his biggest passion. Thanks to the years he spent on the water, becoming a captain came naturally to Daniel. Today, he runs trips from Carolina Beach and puts people on the fish regularly. Daniel is also a certified NAUI diver and has taken many dives both offshore and inland.
