Captain Ben Roggie runs trips from Henderson Harbor NY, the trophy fishing destination for discriminating anglers! This corner of Lake Ontario consists of several back bays fed by tributaries of the lake. Along with our exceptional Salmon and Trout fishing, these back bays provide trophy-class Pike, Pickerel, Walleye, and Smallmouth Bass! The Eastern Basin of Lake Ontario also provides security from the wind and weather. Open-minded anglers can find themselves fishing the bays of the lake on days that would be too unsafe or uncomfortable on the open waters. This means less chance of cancellations due to weather! The deep water fishing consists of Brown & Lake Trout, Steelhead, King (Chinook) & Coho Salmon. Anglers looking for Multi-species trips often reserve 2 days of fishing for the most diverse experience. Add a day of perch fishing for a cost-friendly addition to your trip!
The 26’ Penn Yan comes equipped with everything you need and more for a successful and comfortable day on that water. On board, you’ll find all the necessary safety equipment, along with Lowrance & Garmin navigational gear. You’ll have a porta-potty on board for your convenience, while the livewell will make sure to keep your bait fresh. Comfortable seating is available for when rest is needed, and an open deck/floorplan provides ample space for fighting fish! Rest assured that you’ll be in for a safe, fun, and memorable day’s fishing.
You’ll have your catch cleaned and prepared at the end of the trip at no cost to you, so you can relive the day and memories over a delicious meal that evening. The region is also rich in history and other forms of recreation. Capt. Ben will gladly assist in building a multi-day itinerary for you and your party upon request. Full Day Trip – Salmon/Trout on August 20, 2021 • 4 adultsOur second year going out with Ben and Eric. Could not have asked for a better day on the lake. While the walleye bite was off, lake trout and salmon made up for it. The crew worked incredibly hard to get us on the fish and we enjoyed their company and good humor. They know how to fish. Will be back again later next summer.

The captain stayed in regular contact with me leading up to day of our trip.They work extremely hard to catch fish. They want everyone to catch fish and constantly adjusted tactics as the fishing conditions changed throughout the day. They are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. I selected this charter based on the web description. We were not disappointed. Of course, as in any fishing trips, patience is required, Captain Ben did everything humanly possible to bring us to fish. While we waited for the fish to do their part we enjoyed friendly conversation with the Captain and his mate. It was a slow yet productive day. If you are searching for a charter that is kid friendly, works hard at bringing you to fish, Then you found it. You also get to enjoy the awe and wonder of the Great Lake.

Cole and Stephanie were awesome on this trip very pleasant and knowledgeable. We didn’t catch a lot of fish but not their fault fish just didn’t cooperate I would recommend this charter

I have been fishing the waters of NY since childhood, and have worked as a hunting & fishing guide or guide's assistant across 3 states since 2007. Unlike many of my competitors, this is not something I do part time, as a 'hobby business,' or as a way to finance my personal fishing recreation. Working as a guide, whether hunting or fishing, is my full time job and career. At almost half the age of most of my competitors, I was able to stand on my own two feet and do this for a living when the rest could not, even when they had twice the experience and time invested. That alone tells the story of my capabilities as captain, and my willingness to please my customers! I look forward to seeing you on the water this season so you can experience first hand what separates our boat from the rest of the fleet! Tight lines!
