This is a family-friendly charter and Gulfcoast Fishing Charters always gives its best to tailor its trips around the interests, special needs, and age of its guests. Since taking kids fishing is one of their favorite things to do, there is no minimum age policy for them – everybody's welcome. Gulfcoast Fishing Charters supplies safety equipment, but please bring a life jacket for your kid if they're under 2 years old.
Head out on the captain's 25' Sea Hunt, newly built in 2022. This fishing machine is powered by a 300 HP Yamaha engine that can reach a maximum speed of 40 knots, taking you swiftly to the best fishing spots. The vessel is perfect for this area, as it's equally efficient in one-foot shallow flats and in deep offshore waters. It's comfortable and reliable and has all the latest electronics. The boat accommodates up to 6 guests and everybody can fish at the same time.
Your captain will take you fishing in the inshore and nearshore waters around St. Pete's Beach. You can go after acrobatic Tarpon, search for the big schools of Redfish, fight Speckled Trout, or reel in voracious Snook. You can also fish for Cobia, Sheepshead, Snapper, Giant Sharks, or Black Drum – you just never know what's going to bite your bait! This is not a 'Deep Sea' fishing charter. My trips are casual, calm water, fun sport fishing. If you are looking to go way out and fill a cooler; search for a specically 'offshore' trip as that is not what I provide.
Gulfcoast Fishing Charters will prepare your fishing equipment and live bait, while you should bring your drinks and snacks. The captain will also clean and fillet your catch after the trip.

My father (68) wanted to fish in the ocean with his grandchildren (ages 12 & 14). My husband and I joined in thr fun as well. the children had fished in lakes before, but never the ocean. We booked the trip so we not only had a boat with equipment, but also a captain that could give us tips and knew the lay of the land. Our trip was exactly what we were looking for! The boat was perfect for our crew with everything we needed to have a fun morning fishing. Captain Bobby was fun, personable, and knowledgable. The 3 hrs flew by and we caught a variety of fish. We loved seeing dolphins and reeling in a shark. We would take this trip again and recommend it to all ages and skill levels of those wanting a few fun hours fishing the ocean!

Second trip with captain Robert, and this trip was even better than last year. Out of my many years of booking fishing charters I can honestly say Captain Robert has been my favorite charter ever not once but now two years in a row. Great guy and guide who is down to earth, friendly, helpful and constantly puts you on the fish! Thanks again for another great trip, we look forward to seeing you again next year!
We had a great experience with Capt. Bobby! Even without landing any monsters, he kept our lines hot the whole trip despite a big weather change. One of the coolest moments was seeing a dolphin jump in our wake. On top of that, his customer service was excellent—friendly, professional, and focused on making sure we had a great time. We’d definitely book with him again!
Thanks to Captain Bobby for a great day! He was fantastic - super knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly knows the waters around St. Pete’s. He had us fishing at four different spots and made the whole experience fun and seamless for our family. He recommended we go to Rick’s Reef to cook our catches - it was the perfect finishing touch. Highly recommend booking!
We had a party of 6 of us. 3 couples. I was the only one who had even been fishing before. I have to give the Captain tons of credit he was very calm and relaxed and even got the ladies fishing. He made a point of taking us a little out of the way so the girls could see the manatees, dolphins and a huge colony of rays. He also took the time to actually drop us off literally at a boat launch across the street from our hotel in order to save us a big uber bill. Thanks again for a great time. We had a blast.

I'm Capt. Bobby Burnett. I am a sixth generation Floridian. Commercial and charter fishing has been a huge part of my life since I was born. After years of taking family and friends fishing for fun I decided to make it a career. I bought a boat, got a License and haven't looked back since. I love taking people out to see what the area has to offer. Each day is a new experience for me and my customers. I generally fish live bait on light spinning gear. Techniques vary based on time of year and target species. I try my best to match a customer's ability level with the type of fishing we'll do. I'm comfortable taking advanced anglers as well as people that have never held a rod before. I also enjoy fishing with kids and teaching them everything they need to know.
