Join Fish On in one of Oklahoma’s most unusual fisheries, Lake Sooner. This lake is influenced by the warm water enough to sustain regularly yielding double-digit Bass. Additionally, during cold winters, parts of the lake sustain aquatic vegetation. In Sooner, the level is kept stable as the water is pumped in from the Arkansas River – yet another rarity. Capt. David Clark has a 2-decade long fishing experience in this area, and he knows how to turn these rarities to his advantage.
He’ll take you fishing on his 25’ Willie center console. This vessel is powered by a 200 HP Yamaha engine that can reach a maximum speed of 30 knots. This means you will reach the best fishing spots fast and smoothly. The boat accommodates up to 4 guests but there’s an extra spot available if you’re bringing your kid with you. The boat features Humminbird and Lowrance navigation electronics, outriggers, downriggers, safety equipment, and a live bait tank.
Your main targets on this trip will be Striped Bass and Hybrid Bass. Striped Bass are known as voracious feeders, so you’ll mostly use shad as live bait in order to catch them. This freshwater superstar can be caught in many different ways, it all depends if you detect them in the deeper water or encounter a school at the surface. Hybrids (Wipers) are a valuable part of Oklahoma freshwater fishing: they fight hard, grow fast, and take sport fishing to another level.
Capt. David will prepare all of your fishing equipment and make sure live bait is ready. After the trip, he’ll clean and fillet your catch free of charge. You only need to purchase your fishing license in advance and bring some drinks and snacks for the day.
