Plan your next trip to the Florida Keys and get ready for some Light Tackle Sportfishing with Captain Steve! As an experienced, local guide and Florida native, Captain Steve Heichen will lead you to some of the most magical fishing grounds in Southern Florida.
You’ll meet the captain at the Big Pine Key Fishing Lodge and set off in his 26’ Bluewater center console. You can expect to reach offshore waters in no time, cruising up to 45 knots while being pushed by a 250 HP Mercury engine. This boat is spacious and comfortable, accommodates up to 4 guests, perfect for the whole family, including kids 6 or older!
You’ll have no issues locating your targets using the boat’s top-notch navigational equipment and electronics. The first mate is also an expert in reading the water and looking out for birds to know when and where to set the lines and start fishing!
Head offshore to troll the deep blue for Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, and Blue Marlin, or bottom fish over reefs and target some delicious Snapper. When you’re done, head to one of the local “hook-and-cook” restaurants to have your catch grilled and prepared for you the right way!
However, if you’re feeling adventurous, you should book a Shark trip and challenge yourself to a 1-on-1 battle with the mighty Blacktip. This trip is favorite and perfect for all you Shark fin-atics out there!
Capt. Steve is always stocked with top-quality Star rods, as well as Daiwa, Shimano, and Penn reels. The Captain is the master of rigging natural baits and the use of artificial lures. Your fishing license is included in the price as well so all you have to do is show up ready to fish!

Captain Steve was absolutely great! We went out and within 15 minutes of casting we had Yellow Tail. Saw Barracuda chasing down our Yellow Tail too which was super cool. Caught a Trigger fish and Mahi Mahi. His boat is in immaculate condition. He is super knowledgeable, personable, friendly and a pleasure to hang with on the water. He fileted our fish and bagged for us to take home. Highly highly recommend. Will be back to go fish again. THANKS for a super fun day on the water!!!

6 Hour Trip – Offshore Mahi Fishing
Mahi Trip
A great day offshore fishing for Mahi Mahi today. The captain met us in the parking area and then "chauffeured" us to the dock in his golf cart. We then loaded up and were off! We found a small weed line and set up and we were into fish immediately. Landed 3 keepers before the schoolies moved off. Continued trolling the weed lines and hooked up with a total of 10 fish....4 keepers at the end of the day. Spotted Atlantic bottlenose dolphins that were swimming with our wake from the boat. That was a highlight for the family. Upon returning for the day, Captain Steve drove us back to the car and then to the fish cleaning station. He fileted all the fish and package them for out trip home the next day. Captain Steve is a great captain, fisherman and had great stories of the seas. Book a trip with him TODAY! You won't be disappointed!!! We will back forever sure! Thank you for the memories!......and the tasty fish too....

4 Hour Trip – Reef Fishing Snapper
4 hour light tackle trip
Capt Steve and Kris were great. They put us on the yellowtail snapper and we almost hit our limit. We even got to reel in a big bull shark. What an experience my som and I had. We Would recommend them to anyone looking to catch some fish and have a great day on the water. They will do whatever they can to get you some fish. Thanks again y’all.
