It's time to book a trip to Michigan and fish with Black Shadow Guide Service today! Captain Caleb is a local who grew up fishing the Great Lakes. He started fishing with his dad and grandpa and hasn't stopped since! He enjoys fishing in tournaments and teaching beginners how to fish. The whole family will love being on a trip with him.
Your group of 4 (depending on which trip you choose) will be fishing on the Northern Drifter, a 25' walkaround. There is enough space to fish comfortably and to chase your catch around the boat. The fishfinder and GPS gear will give you that extra edge when out on the water.
The species you'll be targeting include Lake Trout, Steelhead, Coho Salmon, and Walleye. These are great fish that will put up a fight. Once you reel them in, the captain will let you know what can be kept and will happily fillet it for you.
These trips are great for families and beginners alike. You'll mostly be trolling and jigging. Trolling is perfect for relaxing while waiting for the fish to bite, then having fun reeling it in! Kids over 5 can come on these trips. Life vests are provided, but you're welcome to bring your own.
Included in the price are top quality rods and reels. These won't let you down when reeling in your catch. The artificial and cut bait is also included.
Everyone over 17 will need to buy a Michigan fishing license before the day of the trip. You'll also need to bring along a small cooler of food and drink. It's best to wear layers of clothes, as it can get chilly out on the water. You'll still need sunscreen and a sun hat though!

Captain Caleb was great! Super cool guy, loaded with knowlegde. He has a beautiful boat with solid fishing gear. We had a blast reeling in our salmon and trout. I would absolutly book again with him and recommend Black Shadow Guide Service to anyone. Thank you for the memories Caleb.

Captain Caleb knew all the tricks. He was patient with our lack of experience and was super informative on lake history fish species. Moreover, he was easy to strike up a conversation with making the experience that much more enjoyable. His goal was to make sure we caught fish and experienced the most amount of time on the water by coordinating launch site to increase fishing time. Amazing experience. Would do it again and would recommend tj anyone visiting the UP even if you aren't into fishing.

Captain Caleb was wonderful to work with for a four-hour fishing expedition. He had great gear and it generated an average of 3 large fish per person. The four of us had mostly fished on inland rivers and lakes, so this was an awesome Great Lakes experience. We appreciated his cleaning the fish when we were done. We hope to be back in late spring & will certainly use Black Shadow Guide Service again then.

The experience was wonderful. The fishing equipment was top notch and the weather cooperated to allow us to fish the lake the whole morning. Fishing was slow but Caleb was able to get us into several nice catches. Highly recommend this charter
