Make your fishing dreams a reality today with a trip with Following Dreams Fishing Charters. Captain Robert has been fishing his whole life and loves to get his customers on fish. His father got him into fishing when he was just 5 years old, so he knows the best ways to teach the little ones how to fish.
You can have a group of maximum 6 anglers on board his 30’ Cherokee boat. This can be experienced anglers and novices. There is a covered cabin and plenty of seating, making this boat great for the elderly and kids alike. At the beginning of the season when the waters are warm, you’ll need to travel up to 12 miles from shore to get to the fishing grounds. The cabin will give you protection from the wind on the ride out.
When bottom fishing for Perch, you’ll each have a rod that can be used at the same time. For Walleye, you’ll be trolling with around 14 lines in the water at once – potentially, you could all fish at once, too. Perch can be fished from August to October, and Walleye from May to July. Each trip is 5 hours long from the dock to dock, or until the limits of fish are caught. These can change, but your captain will keep you informed.
There’s a private toilet on board and an icebox for the fish you catch. You’ll need to bring along your own icebox filled with food and drinks for the trip. You must buy a fishing license before the day of the trip, but don’t sign it until the day of the trip, in case the trip is rescheduled due to the weather conditions.
Wear warm clothes in layers – you can always take something off, but you can’t put on something you don’t have with you! Remember to wear white-soled soft shoes, and have sunscreen, a sun hat, and camera ready too.
Book a trip with Following Dreams Fishing Charter today! You’re sure to come back again and again.

Walleye Fishing Trip (PM)
From the moment we met Captain Robert and Capt. John, we knew we were in for something special. They alerted us the Walleye bite might be slow—but we would get some fish allowing our family the choice to reschedule or come. That honesty set the tone for a truly memorable outing. Both Captains were very welcoming to the entire family, taking the time to answer questions of how deep the water was, how they would know where the fish were, and showing where they could see the information on his equipment. The twins would look for the depth and go back and tell everyone fishing how deep the water was. It was not long before the first 7-year-old had a fish, reeling it in, with an adult helping support the rod, while he reeled it in. Quickly followed by another bite, thank goodness, so the second twin had his first fish. After the catch, he held the fish up in front of each boy so Grandma could snap the perfect photo. Dad and Grandpa got their shots, too—no one missed out. This set the tone for the whole trip, because when the male adults were reeling their catch in, the two men were helping the twins, supporting the rod while they brought their fish aboard. Instructing them how to hold the Walleye and the different way to hold the Perch that were caught. But the best part was how they brought the boys into the clean-up process. Letting them help package the day’s catch turned a simple chore into a lesson in responsibility and pride. My grandsons have not stopped talking about “our fish” and keep recounting stories of “Captain Robert” and “Capt. John.” If you want more than just fishing—if you want genuine warmth, patience, and laughter—book Following Dreams Fishing Charter. We can’t wait to go back! Three generations of the Witt Family
