Explore the natural world of Ontario on your next freshwater fishing adventure with Redwood Sportfishing Charters! Captain Dean Lapham inherited the charter from his father Dale, along with the knowledge and experience to put you on the fish.
Hop aboard their 18’ Hobo Cruiser flats boat, perfect for cruising the waters of St. Mary’s River. The boat can accommodate up to 5 people fishing at the same time, so it’s great for a friend and family outing. There’s a porta-potty toilet on board for your convenience. The boat comes with a wireless trolling motor, so you don’t have to worry about scaring the fearful specimens.
You’ll get all the fishing equipment on board – Capt. Dean uses Daiwa reels and Berkley rods, and he’ll provide you with live bait as well. He’ll show you a variety of techniques used in these waters, and after a productive day, he’ll be happy to clean and fillet any catch that you’d like to take to the table.
When it comes to fishing, St. Mary’s River is famous for its Rainbow Trout and Whitefish populations, as well as Salmon. You can target Coho, Pink, Chinook, and Atlantic Salmon, depending on the season. Expect to run into Walleye, Perch, Pike, and Bass as well.
Capt. Dean can take you from the rapids of the St. Mary’s River all the way to the mouth of the Garden River and Lake George. This area has amazing opportunities for Salmon fishing, and thanks to the Atlantic Salmon stocking program of Lake Superior State University, it will stay that way for future generations.
Make sure to buy and bring a fishing license, as well as a small cooler. You can bring your own snacks and drinks, and Capt. Dean can arrange a box lunch at an additional charge – just let him know about any allergies.
