Backcountry Brook Trout Fishing
Backcountry Brook Trout Fishing is here to show you the stunning waters of Sault Ste. Marie.
You will be targeting backcountry Brook Trout by fly or spin casting. Enjoy a day in the backcountry fishing for these spectacular beauties. The charter promotes catch-and-release, but will allow a few keepers for dinner. This is a Northern Ontario experience at its best and close to amenities.
Your vessel for the day is a 14' Jon boat that can carry up to 2 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Rods, reels, and tackle are included, along with lures. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
Before coming aboard, you will be required to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's never a bad idea to bring sunscreen (non-spray), sunglasses, and bottled water. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
