Fish Whisperer Charters is based out of Big Otter Marina and Campground in Port Burwell, ON. With over 4 decades of experience, Capt. Ben has perfected the fine art of lake trolling and invites you to join him for a fun, relaxing day on the water.
You'll learn new techniques, catch some delicious fish, and have your catch cleaned and filleted so it's ready for the grill once you get home! Your boat for the day is a spacious 25' Parker pilothouse, equipped with top-of-the-line electronics and fish finding capabilities.
She also comes with outriggers, downriggers, planer boards, a fighting chair, wireless trolling motor, and an array of state-of-the-art rods and reels. You'll have a flybridge so you can enjoy the beautiful view, an enclosed porta-potty, and a spacious deck that accommodates up to 6 guests at a time. Capt.
Ben offers seasonal weekend, half, and full day trips, from June 1 to Thanksgiving. In July and August, it becomes THE place to be for Pickerel enthusiasts. You'll target them by trolling the eastern basin of the lake. On Capt. Ben's trips, you can expect an interactive experience with a knowledgeable, friendly, and patient guide.
He loves teaching beginners the basics and seeing them catch their very first fish. He believes there is no greater feeling of accomplishment than getting his customers hooked and making them smile. Everything you need is included, such as rods, reels, lures, and more.
Just be sure to purchase your fishing license before the trip and arrive 20 minutes prior to departure. Bring a cooler for your drinks and snacks, pack up some extra layers of clothing, and get ready for a fun day of fishing on Lake Erie!

Captain Ben is class act & is master at his craft of fishing....limited out!!
We decided to go on the lake fishing for our anniversary, we found the fish whisperer out of Port Burwell. Ben was great, his boat is large and perfect for fishing on the lake. Ben knows his stuff and has state of the art equipment. We highly recommend. We can't wait to do this again.

This was the first time my son and I had been on a fishing charter. I have to say Captain Ben and Bill were absolutely amazing. They took the time to explain everything to us in great detail. The boat & fishing gear was clean, and in great shape. Everything went as planned. We had a great morning, caught lots of fish and Captain Ben and Bill treated us like family. What more could you ask for. Looking forward to fishing with them again in the future.

Captain Ben Patkus grew up in Port Burwell, ON and spent most of his childhood fishing Lake Erie. He fell in love with the nature in his backyard and became fascinated with the diversity of wildlife that this area hosts. Over the decades, he's become an expert in targeting Perch, Trout, Pickerel, and many other freshwater species. He specializes in trolling and knows all the best feeding spots to have you on fish in no time! Capt. Ben puts safety above everything else. He's Transport Canada certified in MEDA3, SVOP, Marine First Aid, and CPR and his boat is fully equipped with all the necessary safety gear you'd need for a safe and stress-free trip.

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 7 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.
