Steve Huber – Crescent City 

Absolutely five stars for Steve Huber and his charter fishing company out of Crescent City, California! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I surprised my husband and our two kids (ages 12 and 8) with a 6-hour fishing trip during our vacation, and it was hands-down one of the highlights of their entire trip. Since we were traveling with dogs, I stayed back at the campsite, but Steve made sure I felt part of the adventure the whole time! He texted the night before with super helpful reminders—like making sure the kids took Dramamine. Thanks to that heads-up, no seasickness at all! Steve clearly knows the waters well—he took them right to the best spots, and they caught an impressive haul. He also sent pictures and videos throughout the day, along with updates about when they’d be back, which was such a thoughtful touch. Both Steve and his deckhand were friendly, professional, and amazing with the kids, making the trip exciting and comfortable for everyone. To top it all off, they filleted the fish right off the boat so we could cook it up that evening back at our campsite. Fresh fish for dinner after a successful day on the water? Perfect. If you’re in the Crescent City area and looking for a fishing charter, don’t miss out on Steve Huber. It’s worth every penny—and then some!

We met captain Steve at the dock in the morning and after a brief orientation we were out on the water. We started catching fish immediately upon arriving at our first spot. Unfortunately, 5 of the 6 in our group started to get sea sick. Captain Steve tried his best to help those who were feeling ill, staving off the sea sickness for as long as possible. We were easily on pace to catch our limit when most of our party were too ill to continue. Captain Steve graciously offered to take those who couldn't continue back to the dock. Despite my family choosing to end early, we still walked (wobbily) away with plenty of rock fish and a lingcod. We would absolutely go again, but now we know to take something for sea sickness before hand. Of course, Captain Steve and Kai took those who could continue, back out to catch more fish.

Our fishing trip with Captain Steve was absolutely fantastic! He was incredibly accommodating and answered all our questions beforehand, ensuring we were fully prepared for the adventure. We met at 6am and, after a brief pre-trip checklist, we were out on the water. Captain Steve had us catching fish as soon as we reached our first spot. Whenever the fish slowed down, he moved us to a new location where we were back to catching more. We reached our limit of 60 fish by 10am! Captain Steve and his deckhand Kai were amazing hosts and incredible guides. Captain Steve’s knowledge and great sense of humor made the trip even more enjoyable. We will definitely book with Captain Steve every year for our trip to Crescent City.
