We can’t say enough great things about Rodfather Fishing! From start to finish, this was an incredible experience. Captains Jay and Bruce were knowledgeable, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a successful and enjoyable trip. The boat was clean, well-equipped, and comfortable, making the whole experience smooth and stress-free. Whether you’re an experienced angler or a first-timer, they take the time to ensure everyone is set up for success. We caught 5 Chinook Salmon had an absolute blast reeling them in! What really stood out was their passion for fishing and their commitment to making the trip memorable. They knew exactly where to go, shared great tips, and created an atmosphere that made the day even more fun. It was like fishing with family and was the highlight of our trip to Vancouver island. I’ll definitely be booking with them again! Highly recommend!

We went out with jay and Bruce for an 8 hour charter. Right from the start these brothers showed that not only did they have a well set up boat but also loved fishing. On a day when the fishing was tough and not many in the fleet were hooking up the boys got us onto some quality fish. This continued all throughout the day even when the bite slowed to a trickle the brothers continued to change tactics and gear to maximise our options. Within minutes of the marina they managed a buzzer beater that meant we had fresh chinook for supper Thanks Rodfather we will be back

We had an amazing day fishing with Jay and Bruce. These guys are not only knowledgeable, but they’re very entertaining as well. They definitely put us on fish, and we even brought home a few crabs as well. It was a fun morning that we will never forget. I highly recommend These two guys if you’re looking for a relaxed, but entertaining day out on the water.

The “Rodfather” and B put me on the fish almost immediately - I caught quality King Salmon and just had an all around good time! We were nailing them while watching all the other boats pull in the kelp! If you are looking to fish in the Victoria area I can’t recommend these guys enough….

If you're looking for the perfect charter, look no further. Jay & Bruce are two of the coolest guys you'll ever meet. We would have had an amazing time even without a fish hookup. Fortunately for us, we did hook up! We got ourselves a 48" 50lb halibut! Not to mention a variation of a great white shark & Pacific Cod to boot! Today we created a memory that will last a lifetime. Captain Bruce and Ray were wonderful guides and fun to hang out with! We were able to catch halibuts and a cod. It was a beautiful day and filled with laughter and excitement. Highly recommend!

I want to start out by saying how impressed I am at the professionality of Jay and Bruce. These two guys are absolutely incredible if you are going to the greater Victoria area I highly recommend booking a fishing charter through the rod father fishing and outdoors adventures.we start the day at location you'll be given upon booking. Absolutely stunning; you'll meet the fellas the day of at 6am. When me and my girlfriend first met them at the marina, we looked at eachother and had the look of "these guys are gunna be fun". First thing Jay did was help Emma onto the boat (who says chivalry is dead) and I onto the boat; Bruce gave us a life preserver and they immediately showed us how to properly don and inflate the lifejackets and a safety talk of what to do in the case of an emergency and worst case scenario. While Jay completed his safety check. We were off. Not even 10 minutes on to the boat ride we stopped and a set of crab pot in the water. Being very mindful of where the commercial guys pots were. I respected that. They knew what they were doing. Where they were going and how they were going about it. No messing around. Boat was very clean and organized too I might mention. They also got a brand new Yamaha 150 4 Stoke outboard motor so you can actually here yourself think and talk. It's nice. They dropped anchor explain everything they were doing and even let me help them. Learn alot that day. Not 2 minutes after the anchor was on bottom so was the bait. Hammered a skate right First thing (stingray type thing) but what I was there for was a halibut I had messaged Jay saying I was eager to have my girlfriend reel in a halibut a week prior. 845ish. BOOM halibut on. They were so collected. Calm and clear with what to do(I've been In a few deep-sea charters, fish on is chaos) Bruce and Jay. Just true sportsmen man. I didn't want it to end. We got the 83' halibut Landed and bled. We chat and tell story's for another while when the clock rolls around and its time to head in. Got one rod in and out away and just as we start reeling in the last of bottom. Jay gets a hit and the fish spits it out. But our times up I thought. NOPE these 2 didn't care about the time. They cared about another fish for us. They reeled in. Re baited and back down 300 feet to bottom. Boom dogfish on! We land it and the fish swallowed that hook good. Bruce and Jayson handed that fish with just care and finesse. It swam away unharmed. Me or you tired that we would have a dead fish..class act you guys. Seriously. I've never been on such a professional comfortable charter. Don't think about it. Book these guys. You will be very pleased with memories for life. Remember fishing is called fishing. NOT CATCHING. A catch is not a guarantee with any charter. Be thankful you had a good day on the water with your family and friends even if you didn't catch something. They are extremely fun, kind, professional, and just overall incredible ppl. We were catching fish non stop. Not only would I highly recommend going with them, I will definitely be repeat customers - 100% because they deserve it!
