We can’t say enough great things about Rodfather Fishing! From start to finish, this was an incredible experience. Captains Jay and Bruce were knowledgeable, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a successful and enjoyable trip.

The boat was clean, well-equipped, and comfortable, making the whole experience smooth and stress-free. Whether you’re an experienced angler or a first-timer, they take the time to ensure everyone is set up for success. We caught 5 Chinook Salmon had an absolute blast reeling them in!

What really stood out was their passion for fishing and their commitment to making the trip memorable. They knew exactly where to go, shared great tips, and created an atmosphere that made the day even more fun. It was like fishing with family and was the highlight of our trip to Vancouver island.

The “Rodfather” and B put me on the fish almost immediately - I caught quality King Salmon and just had an all around good time!  We were nailing them while watching all the other boats pull in the kelp!  If you are looking to fish in the Victoria area I can’t recommend these guys enough….

I recently had the pleasure of going on a fishing tour with Bruce and Jay, and it was nothing short of amazing! This was our first time fishing for salmon in the ocean waters from a boat on Vancouver Island, and the experience exceeded all our expectations.

Despite other boats around us catching little to nothing, we managed to catch three incredible fish—a coho salmon, a chinook salmon, and a rockfish. The guidance and support provided by Bruce and Jay were not only professional but also infused with a genuine passion and authenticity that made the experience even more special.

Our family had an unforgettable time, and we would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a real fishing experience with true professionals. As a fantastic bonus, we got to keep our catch and enjoyed a delicious BBQ dinner at home afterward—an absolutely perfect way to end the day!

We went out with jay and Bruce for an 8 hour charter. Right from the start these brothers showed that not only did they have a well set up boat but also loved fishing. On a day when the fishing was tough and not many in the fleet were hooking up the boys got us onto some quality fish. This continued all throughout the day even when the bite slowed to a trickle the brothers continued to change tactics and gear to maximise our options.

Captain Bruce and Ray were wonderful guides and fun to hang out with! We were able to catch halibuts and a cod. It was a beautiful day and filled with laughter and excitement. Highly recommend!
