While we were loading up on the boat, Captain Tom let my nephew fish for spot at the dock while going over the game plan for the day and the safety brief. After that, we headed out to the second island and caught some red drum. We then went looking for cobia which was a tough. Weather conditions made it a tough day for targeting cobia. One the way in, we tried for more red drum, then headed back in. Tom let my nephew up on the cobia tower right before docking. We all really enjoyed the day, and if you have kids, I recommend booking him.
Although the weather wasn’t ideal and we had to remain in the inlet, Captain Trey and Greg did their best to make our trip enjoyable. We caught flounder, bluefish, Spanish mackerel, and croaker. They took excellent care of my two sons (ages 8 and 10) and made sure we had a great time. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.
The Captain and crew were amazing. My son had a blast even at a younger age and still caught some huge reds! They know how to find the fish and give you lots of cool education on the fish as well. Will definitely be back!

Thank you Colby! It was a great time having your family on the boat, and we hope to see you again! Congrats to Tucker again for catching 6 different species of fish!
Great captain and crew. Weather was up so fished inshore. Caught fish and had a great time!
Captain Tom and his mate Jordan were awesome! Caught plenty of fish all day and brought home 2 keeper Cobia! They are GREAT to fish with, very personable and fun! Fantastic day on the water!
Norfolk, Virginia, United States
Captain Trey Ritter grew up hunting and fishing at a young age. Over the years, he's learned everything there is to know about the natural habitats of Virginia and Maryland's Eastern Shore, as well as the historic Chesapeake Bay. He's fished and hunted up and down the entire East Coast of the U.S. and Canada, 'but nothing compares to the hunting and fishing that the Chesapeake Bay region offers.' Having grown on the Lafayette River, a small tributary off of the Chesapeake Bay, he learned to chase large Stripers, Cobia, Redfish, and other popular summer trophy fish. Capt. Trey is USCG licensed, holds a number of Saltwater Citations for prize species, and has also placed in several large regional tournaments. You can expect a passionate angler and guide who loves to share his knowledge with families, friends, and clients to deliver the most memorable experience on the water. Get ready for a fantastic day on the Bay and book your next fishing trip with Marva Outdoors!
