Earning Stripes Sportfishing
Want to book a trip that offers variety for anglers of every skill level? Then look no further, and book a trip with Earning Stripes Sportfishing today. Captain Greg grew up surrounded by fishing and knew that he had to follow his passion and make fishing his full-time job. He will do everything he can to make sure you have a productive day out on the water, whether this is your first time fishing or your hundredth.
The day will be spent on a 45' Hatteras sportfishing boat. There is plenty of space to fish, so your group of 6 can be comfortable on the ride out and avoid crossing lines. The boat is decked out with full safety and navigational equipment so you can fish with peace of mind.
The fish will vary depending on where you choose to cast your line. Close to shore and in the bays, you can expect to reel in the likes of Red Drum (Redfish), Cobia, Black Drum, Spanish Mackerel, Rockfish, Black Seabass, and plenty more. The captain will let you know which fish can be kept and will fillet these for you after the trip.
Children over 4 are welcome on board. They'll love the calmer waters of the bay and the great action found there. Live vests are on board for them.
If you're traveling by yourself but want to get out on the water, just join a shared trip. Families and groups of friends can book a private trip to have the boat to themselves.
Included in the price of the trip are top-quality rods and reels. These won't let you down when reeling in your dream catch! Live bait is used for some species and will be included, too. This is usually prepared before the trip.
Don't forget to bring your food and drink for the day. This can go into the captain's cooler. Grab your non-spray sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat, and you're ready to go. Don't forget the mate works for tips (20% customary).
All that's left to do is book a trip with Earning Stripes Sportfishing. Capt. Greg can't wait to welcome you on board!

it was hotter than hades that day but the captain still put us on the cobia. we had a great time the first mate was on point and the boat cabin definitely made the heat bearable

Captain Greg and crew took us out for a perfect half day of sight casting for cobia. We saw about 20-25 and casted at probably half of them while trolling for Spanish Mackerel. My son caught his first cobia and a mess of Spanish Mackerel. The boat was roomy and nice and the crew was kind and easy going. The review from my 8 year old, "it was good."
What a fun day. Our Captain had to be switched out to another Captain but boy did we have fun. The Captain was so much fun and helped us with our catches and was friendly. Our first mate was amazing. So knowledgeable and helped us in every way. Both made our fishing trip one to remember. My son and family cannot wait to book with Earning Stripes Sportfishing next year.
Captain Allman and Mate Joseph were super. The boat was very comfortable including air conditioning that came in handy in the 90+ degree heat. They sight-fished for Cobia. We trolled for Spanish Mackerel and jig-fished over a wreck. We hit our limit with 2 Cobia that were both over 40 inches and pulled in 9 mackerel in just a half day trip. They were very helpful and committed to a successful charter. Captain Allman's experience in handling his boat made the landing of the Cobia easy. Joseph was incredible and one of the most likable persons you will ever meet. It was a great experience and we would charter with Captain Allman again.

I thoroughly enjoyed my fishing trip with captain Greg. Being an angler myself, fishing only in the west coast, I didn't know what to expect when I chartered with Greg. Since I flew into Virginia, I didn't have any of my rods or tackles with me. It was extremely convenient that Greg provided all the necessities, including license for the fishing trip. He took us to fishing spots that produced huge game fish. We pulled fish out left and right with non-stop action. The full day trip flew by quickly, and we were exhausted from fighting fish after fish. The trip was way beyond my expectations, and I highly recommend booking with Captain Greg. Not only was he very knowledgeable, he also have a lot of insights and very friendly to talk to. Highly recommend it. Safe fishing and fish on!!!!
