Aquadventures - Why Knot?

Marina Fonatur
Cozumel QR, Mexico

The gorgeous waters off the coast of Cozumel are well-known to be teeming with exciting fish to catch. Whether they’re bottom-feeding Groupers or incredibly fast Sailfish Aquadventures knows where to find them and the best way to catch them. For the serious sea wolves, Captain Pedro Zapata offers tournament trips, the perfect opportunity to put your angling skills to the test!

Climb aboard their impressive 29’ Topaz Angler – she was built in 1988 but was fully restored in 2013, with all the amenities you can expect to find on a modern, comfortable vessel. She has a kitchen, full-head toilet, spacious interiors, and a multi-media system on board. Don’t be fooled by the luxuries, she’s all about serious sportfishing with outriggers, a fighting chair, a flybridge as well as an advanced navigation and fishfinding system can be found on board.

The fishing in the Cozumel area is very rewarding, as you can target a wide range of species, ranging from the nearshore bottom feeders to the big pelagic monsters that roam the open waters. Groupers, Snappers, Triggerfish, Jacks, Wahoo, Barracuda, Tunas, White and Blue Marlin, Sailfish, and other species can all be targeted – depending on your preference and skill.

Rest easy as Captain Pedro is extremely experienced, having fished his entire life. He’ll guide and instruct you as necessary, as well as provide you with all the required equipment. Snacks and drinks are also provided. The crew will clean and fillet your charge, so don’t forget to bring an ice-box to take that prized catch home. Gratuity for the crew is always very appreciated.
