Big Bull Mahi season is here!! Awesome sunny days following sea weed lines, birds and currents to find these beautiful strong fighting fish. Both cruise and hotel clients have been enjoying the fishing and the post-hurricane weather. In addtion to mahi-mahi, we have also caught wahoo and sailfish.

Season is starting nicely!!

After having so many days of bad weather (strong winds and high waves), the season is staring nicely! Mahi Mahi are regulars on every trip and Billfish are becoming a common sight too. Tournaments are starting this weekend and will have them every weekend from now and for more than a month. Sailfish make great pictures. This is the time of the year that we like to invite everyone to come down and fish the area.

Blackfin Tuna and Mahi Mahi

Great day today on both boats ("Grand Slam" and "Why Not?"). The day was a bit cooler, we are finally over the heat wave and fish are responding immediately. It was mostly cloudy, with a light wind from the east-southeast, we were able to find seaweed lines and birds were active (again). Got some good-sized Dorados on the boat along with blackfin tuna. These fillets are going to Texas!! They will make great dinners for some time.

Mahi Mahi catches picking up!!

The heat wave has finally passed and Mahi Mahi are responding to it. Both boats ("Grand Slam" and "Why Not?") have been very busy today with them getting over 15 fish on the lines. Not only quantity but size has improved. Massive rain last night, and a bit of wind too.... cloudy today, all of these helping cool down the water...Dorado is responding immediately! Fished the Yucatán Channel on a 4-hour trip....wish we could have had more time to see if we could get some billfish too. Awesome day!

It was a tough month.....Heatwave hit us hard! Not easy finding fish but still we managed to come back with a catch on every trip. Hard work, persistence, and patience are key, both on our side and on our clients´. Mostly Dorados (Mahi Mahi) but we also caught wahoo, tuna, and a few Billfish while deep sea trolling and mainly snapper on reef/bottom fishing trips. We really thank all of you who came out fishing with us, 46 trips during the month on both boats ("Grand Slam" and "Why Not") We´ll keep giving our best for you to have fun. We are also hoping to add a 3rd boat soon, we´ll keep you posted.

We had a great experience fishing aboard the Grand Slam in Cozumel, Mexico with our crew, Victor and Augusto. They worked incredibly hard to get us on the fish, constantly adjusting and doing everything possible to put fish on our lines. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t fully cooperate—the seas were pretty rough—which I guess is why they call it fishing and not catching. The captain, Victor and deckhand, Augusto - had one mission - to find us some fish in the “off season”...along the way it was a gorgeous day and a relaxing journey in the ocean. The boat was extremely clean and comfortable. The guys never sat down once and finally we hit on some barracuda and a mackrel. We were all able to reel in a fish and take plenty of pictures. i can’t recommend this boat and these guys enough!!! We had the greatest time making amazing memories!!!

We booked with Grand Slam but he was full and offered us to go on the Why Not boat and we accepted. Both the captain and his hand were fantastic. They worked their butts off the full 4 hour trip! We knew it was end of season, but wanted our teen boys to experience this in Mexico with us, so took a chance. We ended up catching 5 gorgeous Mahi Mahi and lost a 6th during transfer to the boat. We also reeled in a 45lb Wahoo but its teeth cut the line before we were able to get it in the boat.... More

This crew was awesome! Ran a smooth and skilled boat. We caught 4 mahi and hooked a sailfish! It was so awesome to see the sailfish jump up several times and finally breaking the line. It was just amazing to see it! I don’t know if I could have reeled it in it was so big!

This was my 3rd time booking this boat in Cozumel, and I’ll definitely be back. Amazing crew, very accommodating, and we’ve caught fish every time. the boat is geat, with snacks and bathroom. I’ve gone with just adults, and also kids. They do a great job of asking what kind of fishing you want to do (lots of reef fish for kids, or chase the giants.) This time, we got a white marlin, which is definitely a bucket list fish for me.
