My fiance and I were staying in playa del Carmen and took a ferry across to Cozumel. Where Grand Slam and its crew were patiently waiting just down the road a few hundred yards. Once lines were out we had a double on about 4 to 6lbs dorado and it never stopped. We fished for 8 hours starting at about 830 and the longest we went without putting a fish in the boat was about 45 mins. We had chances they just didn’t stick during that 45 mins around noon. We ended up with 17 dorado one of them was a big Bull mahi mahi about 35 lbs. We had another big one come off right at the boat. And one small barracuda. The crew never stopped working the rods and changing baits and since I am an experienced fisherman’s they ran me through their operations and had me letting out rods during a period where we put 6 fish in the boat and dorado were jumping and chasing our baits all around us. They kept stealing our baits and flying out of the water. It was just my fiance and I and it was something we will never forget.

We booked a 8 hour trip beginning at 7:00 am. The crew had the boat ready when we arrived. Within minutes, we were trolling for wahoo in the deep waters outside the marina. We caught a wahoo about 20 minutes into the trip. After that we headed north to the northeast side of island and fished near the lighthouse there. We had consistent action the whole time and it was furious at times. We ended up catching wahoo, amberjack, barracuda, and several nice snappers. The food was great and the captain used one of the snappers to make ceviche. The whole group is looking forward to going back next year!

My wife, son, and myself really enjoyed the short fishing trip with the Grand Slam! We were able to book it last minute while on a cruise (so we were only able to do a 4 hour trip),but it was 4 hours of time well wasted! We caught 5 mahi-mahi! It was very obvious the captain and crew knew the waters like the back of their hands! I would love to return and do an 8 hour trip with them one day!

The fishing trip was the highlight of our time in Cozumel! They picked us up right on time from our resort dock.  Due to weather over the weekend, the charter company stayed in contact and rebooked us to a day with better conditions. Still had some rain and rough seas but even so, ended up with a barracuda, a mahi mahi, and a wahoo! The crew was always working to change bait and keep the lines out. The captain was actively trying to get us on the fish. The crew cut us some excellent cuts of fish right there and then, and since we had way more than the two of us could eat, they assured us the remaining meat would not go to waste as there were always people in need waiting at the port to whom they could give the fish.  We met with the chef back at our resort and enjoyed an excellent dinner from our fresh catch! We highly recommend this charter company!

I have fished with several outfits all overt the Riviera Maya, and the Grand Slam was among the top. Augusto and Victor were a great crew. Both guys worked hard to put us on the fish, and after a slow bite early, they were successful. We worked the birds and the weed lines, and were able to land 1 Jack, 2 Barracuda, 3 Mahi, and 1 nice Wahoo in some fairly sporty seas. Victor made Fresh Civiche for us, as well as the BEST Guac I have ever had! The guys recommended a great local restaurant for us to take our catch after the trip, and El Coctelito did not disappoint. I highly recommend the Grand Slam and Pedro Zapata for your Cozumel fishing needs.
