It's time to catch some tough-fighting fish with Mega Bite Charters. Captain Adam Collett is with you every step of the way to help teach you how to fish and reel in your dinner. Capt. Adam is great with kids and has the patience to teach them how to fish. He has fished all over but nothing beats the Bays of Traverse City!
Capt. Adam is an upbeat and positive person who loves working with families and children. With 2 little ones of his own, he knows how to make sure kids have fun while being safe.
Step on board his 28' boat, which has a deck big enough for 6 people to fish from comfortably. The cuddy cabin has air conditioning for those hot summer days, offering shade to escape the sun. There are full safety and navigational equipment on board and a private restroom.
You can expect to target the likes of Lake Trout, Chinook Salmon, Brown Trout, and Rainbow Trout from May 1 to October 1. You'll use a range of techniques, including trolling, which is a great way for kids to learn how to fish.
Children of all ages are welcome on board and will have life vests provided for them. They'll definitely have a fun story to tell their friends back at school after a trip with Capt. Adam!
Included in the price of your trip are top-quality rods and reels. These won't let you down when reeling in your first fish, or even a trophy catch. After your trip, your captain will fillet the catch that you're allowed to keep. Make sure you have a cooler in the car with ice to transport this back home.
Everyone over 17 in the group must have a fishing license before boarding the boat. You're welcome to bring food and drinks along and should bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.

Our Half Day Trip with Captain Craig and First Mate Colton was outstanding! In and out in 3 hrs, our group of 6 maxed out on Lake Trout, largest 9 lbs, 12 fish total. The first mate Colton and captain were on every strike and coached us very patiently. Fun time and good eating. They filetted the fish quickly for us (they can clean and dress them any way you like at dockside). I steamed/roasted half on the grill and breaded/pan fried the rest for family group of 10 - big hit with pasta veggie salad and grilled zucchini’s. Wonderful day! It was our 2nd successful family charter with Adam’s Mega Bite Charters and we loved it! Remember to tip your crew!! Good luck, Mike

My wife and I had a great experience with captain benny and first mate Colton . We caught our limit in less than 2 hours on lake trout . They took us to another spot and caught a steelhead trout . Thx guys

Captain Adam Collett is a Traverse City native. Capt. Adam has extensively fished the flats in the Florida Keys, the lakes in Manitoba and Saskatchewan, targeted Catfish in the Mississippi, and fished in the Trout streams in Montana. His passion for fishing the East Bay has truly captured his heart. Capt. Adam is a supporter of the Grand Traverse Area Sport Fishing Association and applauds the GTASFA's efforts in meeting with the DNR to help regulate responsible fishing. He is a father of 2 and enjoys teaching youngsters how to fish and love the water. He does this all while fishing safely...and with patience! He and his team will do their best to make sure you have a memorable time on the water.
