Understandably so, this dynamic-duo have a great relationship and over 5 decades of fishing experience combined. They come from a long line of fishermen and are eager to share the knowledge that has been passed down from generation to generation, and show you the sights and hotspots when fishing with them.
Hop on board their classic 55' boat, which can have up to 20 guests on board. On a shared trip, there needs to be a minimum of 11 people for the charter to run. At any one time, up to 16 anglers can fish at the same time and won't cross lines. Although there's plenty of storage on board, you're welcome to bring along your own cooler.
You can fish Moeraki year-round, although waters are calmer in the winter. If coming with children (who must be over 5 years of age) then this is a good time to book. Moeraki is 3 hours from Christchurch and is an authentic seaside village, with some of the best fishing found on the South Island.
Some of the species you can target here include Grouper, Trumpeter, Tarakihi, Perch, Barracuda, Blue Cod, and plenty more local species. It will take an hour to get to the fishing grounds, but the ride out is worth it! Especially when you're surrounded by natural beauty and wildlife
Don't forget to have a cooler in the car to take your catch home in; Remember, plastic bags are now illegal in New Zealand. Included in the price of the trip are top quality rods and reels, BBQ food, water, tea, and coffee.
