Captain Jon Everetts is the man behind the helm of the “Black Dog,” a 28’ Master Marine center console that’s named after his trusty labradoodle, Trey. Both Capt. Jon and Trey have a shared love of fishing and being out on the water. Together, this dynamic duo provides a variety of angling adventures that are suitable for guests of all ages and skill levels.
If you’re a brand new angler or are traveling with little ones, Capt. Jon runs a range of short, exciting trips that’ll introduce you to these waters. He’ll also happily show you the ropes and get you set up with your gear. Capt. Jon’s newbie-friendly adventures aren’t boring, either – he’ll have you battling the most notorious species of all, the Shark! With his guidance, even children can try to land one of these beasts.
If you’re a more experienced angler, Capt. Jon recommends joining him for a longer trip, where you’ll get the chance to head further out onto the Atlantic to target tasty table fare and hard-fighting game fish. Bottom fish seriously deep waters for Grouper, Snapper, Cobia, huge Bluefin Tuna, and plenty more. You can mix this up with some Shark fishing action, too.
On board Capt. Jon’s vessel, you’ll find top-of-the-line navigational gear, life jackets for all ages, and top-quality rods and reels. Your fishing license will be provided for you and, depending on what you reel in, your captain will also clean and fillet your catch for you.
Best of all, you have the option of being joined by Trey on your trip – if you’d like this furry first mate to come along for the ride, just let your captain know. All that’s left is to come aboard Black Dog Fishing Charters for a truly unforgettable adventure!

Sharks galore!
We had a fantastic time with Captain Jon and his sweet puppy boy on a two hour shark hunting expedition. My son and my two nephews all caught sharks, including a very feisty 8 foot long bull shark! We did capture and release with all of them and it really was a lot of fun. I was surprised that everyone was able to catch some thing given the short duration of the trip. Jon is very charming and very experienced and he knew exactly where to go to get that kind of volume in a short period of time. Highly recommend!

Everyone’s favorite part of our vacation
It is hard to find something to do for the whole family. We have a 10 year old girl and 18 year old boy. We all caught fish. We loved meeting Tinker (make sure you request he comes along). We caught 8 fish total and 4 that were too big to bring in the boat with the largest being an 8 ft Bull shark!! Captain Jon was great and very knowledgeable. We would 100% recommended booking a trip. We did a 3 hour trip and saw dolphins too.

An Amazing experience and forever memories
We had an amazing experience that we'll always remember! We did a Mother son fishing trip that he'll remember forever. Loved that there weren't a lot of big waves and didn't feel sea sick at all. Only took about 7 mins to get to our fishing spot which is great and had plenty of time to fish. Our Captain Jon was very nice and very knowledgeable and could predict what kinds of sharks were on our line. We will do this again next year!

We had an incredible fishing trip with Captain John, where we reeled in some impressive catches, including lemonhead sharks, black tip sharks, king mackerel, Spanish mackerel, and bonito. But the highlight of the trip was watching my son catch his very first shark - a moment I'll never forget. With tight lines and bent rods, we created memories that will last a lifetime. Captain John led the way, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Blast!!
We didn’t have any luck for catching fish. It wasn’t the lack of trying from Captain Jon! He went above and beyond to try get me on fish. We fished tide wading with no luck but that didn’t stop him. He unloaded his boat and took me out on the water and tried getting me on fish. The conversations and listening to the knowledge from years experience and the willingness to try hard to get us on fish. Sometimes weather,water and fish just won’t cooperate. Thank you Captain Jon I will be booking again with you soon!
