Truly an experience that your kids will tell all their friends about as soon as they get back home! Well, that’s how it would have worked back in our childhood days, but now the kids’ friends will be looking at photos before you’re even off the boat! Treat your family to this exciting adventure!
When you visit Hilton Head Island, SC contact Dolphin Discoveries Nature Tours & Family Shark Fishing. Whether the kids are 5 or 8 and reeling in 1-2 footers, or your harder-to-please teenagers are on board and we go to the holes where the 3,4 and even 5 footers hang out either way, the kids will be full of smiles!
Please note that we will not bring any sharks larger than 3ft long, into the boat. Even then it is captains discretion over holding sharks, as safety is our #1 priority.
Our 22’ Carolina Skiff is made for recreational boating and fishing. It’s a great boat to catch some Sharks, stop to see a few dolphins, and enjoy all the beautiful scenery Hilton Head has to offer! This charter can accommodate a group max of 6 guests(Generally, we fish 4 rods max at a time), although ...less people(or with children) gives more room to move about.
Whether a Hammerhead, Bull Shark, Blacktip, or maybe a huge Ray putting up the fight of a lifetime, it’s Hilton Head fun at its best! Our Captains have kids themselves that love to go fishing with their dads on their days off so you won’t be dealing with the old salty fishing guy that does most of the fishing for you. These guys love seeing the excitement on your kids’ faces just like they see on their own kids!
Teens and children is who this is built for, and the crew is very enthusiastic to teach them to fish. For Dolphin Discoveries and Family Shark Fishing, it’s all about summer fun and the kids! Of course, an enthusiastic adult group we love to have as well! All fishing gear, bait, and licensing are included.

3 Hour Shark Trip on September 5, 2026 • 4 adults • 2 childrenI threw out a request to go after some reds cause they are in full swing this time of year ( early September). Also, this would be my kids first fishing carter so I kept it to 3 hrs. Heath called me after booking said he could accommodate even though it was primarily a shark charter (super nice guy btw!). Captain Shep delivered!!! we got into a good half dozen of reds in a short amount of time. He had them figured out. Captain Shep was great with my kids (8&4) and came with agreat personality. Book the trip have an adventure.

Was able to catch a hammerhead, bonnet head and a few other sharks. Our kids had a great time (was the best part of our vaca)! We were also able to see several dolphins up close, which was awesome!

3 Hour Shark Trip – 8 am on May 27, 2025 • 5 adults • 3 childrenWe’ve been on plenty of charters and always prepare our kids that we are going “fishing not catching.” It wasn’t long on the boat before our first bite and then we consistently caught sharks. By the end we caught 9-10 sharks and 2 stingrays. He even swung by the shell island so our kids could get a few shells. Larry was great with the kids and provided an unforgettable experience. We will definitely be back!

He knew the area well and made it so we could go shell hunting, dolphin sighting (so many dolphins), and shark fishing! I caught 3 sharks and my wife caught one! My young sons and I have enjoyed multiple shark fishing trips in the Calibogue and near shore Atlantic with the Dolphin Discoveries team. This time we chartered with Brian, who helped us reel in two sharpnose and two bonnetheads. Too much fun!
