We can’t say enough about the Captain and crew.  Lamar met us at the dock, we left in time and he was very knowledgeable.  We booked a half day trip which is a good amount of time to spend on the water.  The boat is newly refurbished so looks brand new.  Lamar and his mates Victor and Donald had the lines in the water writhin 15 minutes of leaving.  They knew just how to find the fish.  Though we did not bring home the tuna or mahi we were hoping for, this day on the water was a highlight of our trip.  Lamar kept us out on the water longer than we agreed just to ensure we had a good time.  On our way back, Donald jumped in the water with a spear and pulled out a huge lobster!  I hope we can get back to Grand Cayman, and if we do, we’ll definitely book w Jackson!

I highly recommend considering booking a trip with captain Lamar Jackson. He provides the kind of attention you hope for when you book a charter. We booked a 6 hour deep sea trip between Christmas and New year’s and had a great experience despite a slow bite day. Lamar was highly focused on making it a good experience starting weeks before the day, responding quickly to my questions via the fishing booker app. On the day of the trip, we showed up at the boat and it was all ready to roll and we pulled out from the dock a bit earlier than scheduled. He had 2 mates along to help out for our 5 people.  We then trolled out to the fishing grounds catching a mid size barracuda. Once we reached the yellow fin tuna fishing grounds, we were marking lots of fish and it looked promising and repeatedly drifted the spot for several hours. Despite lots of effort by Lamar and his crew, we couldn’t get the big boys and girls to bite, but it was not for a lack of effort! We did catch a few smaller fish (black fin and skipjack tuna) trolling back to restart the drifts. We even stayed out closer to 8 hours trolling back to the dock trying to make something happen. Unfortunately the fish just had lock jaw that day as the rest of the fleet reported similar results. But Lamar wasn’t done…. He promised that if his charter the next day had extra fish, he bring us some… and indeed he did! Delivered to our condo a nice bag of fresh yellow fin and wahoo to feed 8 the next day! Book with Lamar and he’ll do you right!

Capt Lamar and deckhand Victor were great guides for our group’s first offshore fishing trip and a second day of snorkeling and Sting Ray City.  He was very patient and kind with our teenagers. He put us on some giant tuna that we have been eating since. We are staying at a private house near Rum Point and he even picked us up at our dock. The boat itself is new and in excellent condition with new excellent tackle. Lamar and Victor try very hard to make your day a memorable experience and they are excellent. I would definitely recommend them for your Cayman fishing fun!

Both guys were very knowledgeable and we had a great time.  We made the run out to the bank and immediately started marking fish.  We were marking Yellow Fin and had Mahi in the area.  Unfortunately, one person in our party was not feeling well and we had to make the decision to head back closer in to continue fishing.  They kept grinding with us and even stayed out a little longer than they had to.  The guys put us on fish multiple times and will for sure be using them again on our next visit.

Great day with Captain Lamar Jackson! Experienced captain with great boat and equipment.  Weather wasn’t great so we stayed in the sound. Fish weren’t biting a lot but we brought in lobster and conch. Will definitely go out with Jackson WaterSports again!
