Charter Fishing with Captain Robert invites anglers of all ages and levels of experience to join them in exploring Crystal River's nearshore and backcountry waters. Captain Robert Mcclinnis grew up in the area and is committed to catering to all your needs. Bring the whole family along and spend a fun day in nature, chasing the most prized fish species in the region.
The boat you’ll be fishing from is a 21’ Carolina skiff, powered by a 115 HP Yamaha outboard. This boat’s versatile design makes it a great choice for both inshore, nearshore, and backcountry fishing. It can accommodate 4 anglers fishing at the same using a number of fishing techniques. If you’re trolling, the number of anglers fishing at the same time comes down to 2. The also boat has all the safety equipment and electronics you could need to have a safe, action-packed trip!
Charter Fishing with Captain Robert trips will take you around the best fishing and scalloping grounds around. Depending on the trip you’ll be able to target a wide variety of species, including Redfish, Snook, Mangrove Snapper, Gag Grouper, Cobia, and more. If you’d like to have access to snorkeling equipment, to escape the heat during the hot summer days, let your captain know ahead of time and they will bring it along for the trip.
As far as fishing gear is concerned, that’s all taken care of. The captain will provide you with top-of-the-line St. Croix rods and Shimano reels as well as tackle, lures, and live bait. Live bait is included in each trip and depending on availability the captain will either have live shrimp or he’ll stop by one of his traps and have fresh bait ready within seconds.
All you need to bring is your choice of drinks and snacks (water and ice will be provided), non-spray sunscreen, sunglasses, and you’re ready to meet Captain Robert on the water!

Half Day Trip (AM)
Great day on the water.
I went on a half day fishing trip with my wife and 20 yr old son. Captain Robert did a great job pairing the fishing equipment with each of our skill levels. The fishing was good. We caught fish everywhere we stopped. When it got slow we moved. We caught a variety of fish and kept a few trout. It was obvious captain Robert enjoys what he does and cares about creating an enjoyable experience for his guests. The weather had the potential to ruin our day but he did a great job skirting the storms. We felt safe with the helm in his hands. I would definitely fish with him again.

Fun, memorable day!
Captain Robert worked really hard for us on our half day trip, under conditions that unfavorable. We pulled lots of fish out of the water and had a ball. One was too big to keep (but made a GREAT picture) and most were too small to keep. But, it was still a lot of fun. Captain Robert was very knowledgeable about the area and taught us a great deal about the fish and other wildlife that we saw. He let everyone fish at their own pace and at their skill level, and happy to help when needed. We would definitely go out with him again! Thank you, Captain Robert.

Great Trip!
I've been on several charters that where we didn't catch any fish but that is not the case with Captain Robert. He moved around until we found the fish we were after. We caught 35 redfish in less than 2 hours once we found them. We all had a great time and he was very knowledgeable, helpful and easy to get along with.

We had such a great time. we got right out on some fish but they weren't keepers. and we even caught a shark as well. we got 4 keeper red fish when we were trying to fish for sheepshead so that was super fun and a black sea bass as well. captain was super fun and kept us all in enjoyment.

Full Day - Deep Sea Fishing
Had a good time
Cpt Robert worked hard to keep us busy with fish. We saw some spinner Dolfins 10ft from the boat running with us, and caught a ton of fish. He had good communication, and was ready to go right when we got to the ramp. Thanks for a fun trip.
