Capt. Jose is a lifelong angler who was born and raised in Costa Rica. He’s been taking visitors out to explore the waters of Guanacaste Province for over 20 years. Capt. Jose is known throughout this area for his exciting charters, as well as his trip flexibility and years of experience! He welcomes anglers of all skill levels to join him for a day of fishing, and will happily adjust your adventure to suit your group.
You’ll be fishing from Capt. Jose’s 33’ Nava center console, with room for up to 6 anglers on board. She’s decked out with top-quality navigational and safety gear, as well as a toilet, so you’ll be treated to a secure and comfortable journey to the hotspots. She’s also a serious fishing machine, with onboard outriggers and a fighting chair to help you win the fight against some deep sea beasts!
Your captain will take you up to 16 miles north of your departure point, where you’ll hit the productive waters around the Murcielago Islands. Depending on the trip you opt for, your target species could include Mahi Mahi, Marlin, Sailfish, Tuna, Cubera Snapper, and Roosterfish. Newer anglers can target prized fish on a half day trip, whereas experienced, adventurous anglers can hit the night bite on a 12-hour excursion!

Your captain will make sure you’re provided with top-quality rods and reels, bait, tackle, lures, and snacks and drinks to keep your energy up.
