Had a great charter with Captain Cody today. Picked us up on time and had hooks in the water at the first location within minutes. Relocated anytime the bites got slow to another area to keep the action going. Caught several mackerel, sea trout and others. Captain Cody was very knowledgeable on the area, the fish and how to catch them. Offering plenty of advice without being overbearing. At the end of the trip all keepers were cleaned and bagged. Outstanding service and will return again!

We originally booked a shark fishing trip. Cody called a few days prior to let us know that with current weather that the chances of catching one was slim. He assured me that an inland trip would likely be a better option. We switched the trip and went for it.
He was a great Captain and host. Great conversation, and we learned a lot about the area and the fish in the local waters. There was 4 people in our party and we all caught several fish of different species. The trip was well worth it!
We’re really pumped to head back when the weather is better for shark fishing, and definitely will be booking with Straw Hats again. Thanks Cody for helping make it an amazing afternoon out!

Had some super unfortunate weather pushing us off the spots originally planned to target some bigger fish, but Capt Cody worked like crazy to put us in front of fish all day long on backup plan spots. Had tarpon all around us, they just didn’t want to cooperate. Still caught other species all day long and learned lots about fishin the area! Absolutely would recommend Capt Cody and would book again without hesitation

We had a great time with Capt. Cody—multiple locations for a 3/4 day inshore trip.  The weather cooperated and we had the one nice day among the rain.  Smooth waters allowed us to get around.  Capt. Cody finally put us on fish in the Bay.  Caught mainly Trout, even a couple of keepers.  Also got a fun mix of other grassbed species.  My wife was the big winner of the day—easily topping a dozen nice fish.  Capt. Cody was extremely informative, and guided us around the area.  Even our college-aged sons learned a lot.

We had an incredible time with a family of 5 (ages 8, 10, 17).  We all got to actively fish, not exclusively troll, which was something we really enjoyed the engagement on as opposed to watching/waiting that some trips entail especially with kids.  Bait, various lures, bottom and top fishing, good variety and caught a bunch!  The boat ride was itself a great entertainment with a a wide ranging trip to several locations with dolphins in tow. The captain was beyond attentive, informative and friendly.  Very much appreciated the excellent and professional communication before the trip to get everything lined up. The flexibility was appreciated to change gears and take the boat in for a bite to eat at a dockside restaurant and let the kids take a swim on sandbar and do some beach exploration too to break up the day.  The kids, often NOT easy to please, said afterwards that it was “the best boat trip they have ever taken”, and they have been on a few.  I was a little nervous about not having a bathroom on board, but it worked out fine with the restaurant stop.  Would highly recommend!
