For your next vacation to Mexico, you’re going to want to book a fishing trip with La Bandida Sport Fishing. Captain Monte will make sure you have an unforgettable day out fishing with him and his first mate. Capt. Monte is bilingual in Spanish and English and enjoys taking part in tournaments. He’ll have you reeling in fish in no time!
Step on board his 23’ center console. This classic boat can take up to 4 anglers on board with enough room for 2 anglers to fish at once. It’s decked out with safety and navigational gear so you can fish with peace of mind.
You’ll mostly be trolling around 20 miles from shore for a variety of species, including Red Snapper, Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, and more. The captain will take you out a maximum of 50 miles from shore.
Want to make your day even better? Talk to the captain in advance to arrange the use of snorkeling masks or the fly fishing rod.
Children of any age are welcome on the 4 and 6-hour trips. For the longer trips, children should be a minimum of 10 years old. Life vests are available for them all. On the 8 and 10 hours, the captain will also provide you with beer, snacks, and extra ingredients to make ceviche with your catch.
You’ll need to bring your own food and drinks on the 4 and 6-hour trips. This can go into the captain’s cooler on board. The fishing license for the group is included on all trips. You’ll need to pack sunscreen and sunglasses to be comfortable on board.
On board on all trips will be a first mate to help you fish. Don’t forget to tip him at the end of the trip 20-25% of the total trip price.

Amazing experience! Senor Monte was very responsive to our calls and welcoming when we arrived. Captain Carlos and the first mate Victor made the experience fun and memorable. We caught 9 barracuda, 1 caballito, and 1 boca dulce. They constantly changed bait and took us to different areas to fish. To top off the experience Captain Carlos preped two barracudas into sushi for a delicious meal! 😋 price is extremely reasonable and the boat is very clean and in great condition. Already planning our second trip out there.

If you're ever in Puerto Vallarta and want to go fishing, you've got to try Monte Hernandez. He is very friendly, speaks both Spanish and English. Has cold drinks and music on board. He even gave us extra time fishing since we weren't catching anything. At the last minute I snagged myself a huge Amberjack. Birthday wish came through!😊 😊
