Captain Chappy Charters
Inshore fishing consists of fishing in the rivers, creeks, inlets, and beaches surrounding Charleston. Typically the water is calm and land is always visible so motion sickness medicine is usually not needed, but feel free to bring some. The travel time from the dock to the fishing destination is short - typically 20 minutes so you will be fishing within minutes. On this type of fishing charter, depending on the time of year, we target Red Drum (aka Redfish or Spot Tail Bass), Sea Trout, Flounder, Bluefish, Spanish Mackerel, Sharks, Sheepshead, and more! We use spinning reels and a variety of live bait, such as shrimp and finger mullet. This is the most popular excursion available in 1/2 day, 3/4 day, and full day trips.
Capt.Chappy and Jeremy are local fishermen who have plenty of experience when it comes to exploring the coast of South Carolina. They're passionate about these waters and love nothing more than passing on their knowledge to other guests. The ultimate goal on each trip is to teach you the ways of these waters, and how to fish them – and to leave you with plenty to smile about!
You’ll be fishing from your captain’s 23' Sea Pro bay boat or 24' Blazer Bay boat. These are the perfect vessels for cruising our shallow fishing grounds, with room for up to 5 guests onboard. The Captains loves welcoming children on their adventures, so feel free to turn this into an unforgettable family adventure. Just make sure that any little ones are ages 5 or above. Your captain will provide you with life vests, and the boat is decked out with top-notch safety and navigational gear, too.

Four Hours of Fish
Captain Chappy had us catching fish in no time. Caught several species and enough Reds for a great meal. Very knowledgeable and kept the bite fresh and fun. Would highly recommend booking with him. Only thing I will do differently next time is book a longer trip. Thanks for the memories.

2 fun days!
First day, the weather beat us up a little bit and that hurt the fishing. But the second day was fantastic. A little exhausting at times with pretty much nonstop action at each spot we went to for the six hour trip. When I get back to Charleston I’ll be using Captain Chappy again. Thank you for a great time And some good memories for a group of friends that you had to put up with for two straight days!

Great trip out with Captain Chappy
I wanted to get a few novice fisher friends out on some fish and Captain Chappy knew exactly how to make that happen. He locked us in on a great bite from the Jetties to the Creeks. I highly recommend this Captain! I will be going out again after this experience.

Great Trip!
We were on a family vacation in IOP. We are from Louisiana (great redfishing) and weren’t expecting much. Captain Chappy changed that. He put us on the fish! We had to throw back at least 15 fish - because they were too big! Tough problem to have! Thanks Captain Chappy!!
