Captain Cachas is an amazing person just in general.  The way he interacted with my children, it was as if they were his nephews.  That right there mean’t more to my wife and I more than anything.

We fished for 2 hours in the bay and we all caught fish.  Went to Stingray City where Captain Cachas caught stingrays for our family to interact with.  After that, we went snorkeling.  Everything was just perfect!  We really enjoyed going out with a 4th generation Cayman and enjoyed hearing the stories about Captain Cachas’ grandfather.  When my boys get a little older, we will 100% be going off shore with Captain Cachas.

Do yourself the favor and book with Captain Cachas.  He is a truly outstanding individual.  We look forward to a day on the water with him on our next visit to Grand Cayman.  10/10 + gold stars!!!

Booked 4-hr deep sea fishing trip with Captain Cachas. He did not disappoint! Captain C is a 4th generation Cayman Island local who knows everything there is to know about local fishing. Caught 3 nice barracuda fish. While we had hoped for an exciting catch like wahoo, tuna, or mahi mahi, they just weren’t biting. Capt. C worked very hard to make sure that we caught something & had and enjoyable time on the water. Other boats that were out reported no catches so we were thrilled to have reeled in 3 barracudas. You can’t find a better, more accommodating Captain or guide for a day on the water. Don’t hesitate, book your time with Jah Bless for a great experience in Grand Cayman.

Captain Cachas was great!.  He met us at the dock and was sure we were on the water at our start time.  He engaged with my 9 year old son while also subtly preparing him that sometimes you get “skunked.”  But within 5 minutes of trolling we caught our first baracuda, and then soon after a small Tuna. This is actually the type of catch he prepared me for during our communications before the trip. We then hit a lull so he tried to mix it up and look for trigger fish, when that didn’t work we went back to trolling and caught a big barracuda and then three more small tuna.  ALl the while he was engaging, talked to us about the island, adn taught us about fishing the island. 

The kicker is as we came in we discovered basically every other boat was skunked that day.  they were bigger with multiple crew members, but that didn’t translate to much for their customers that day.  We come every two years and I will definitely be booking again with Captain Cachas and I already recommended him to two people staying at our resort.

Cachas Stewart was a great captain. We caught barracuda and he delivered them to Morgan’s Restaurant where they made us cerviche and blackened and grilled our fish. Cachas was patient and kind as we fished off his boat. Then, we went snorkeling as he cleaned the fish. He went in and emerged with a huge stingray for us to “pet and kiss”. We turned down the chance to hold it ourselves but were still impressed with his skills. Highly recommend! Great day!

Arrived for one day on a cruise and booked a half day private charter with Captain Cachas “SuperC” Stewart. Had a fantastic day which he customized to our wishes. Perfect activity for anyone in port on a cruise or staying on the island for a visit.

Transportation was easy. Caught a taxi upon arrival at port on a tender. $28 for a private taxi (don’t wait for the $6 shared ride). About a 15 minute drive. When we returned, C had a taxi waiting for us at the yacht club to take us back ($32).

As for the trip, it was a fully customized, phenomenal experience. We started at Sting Ray City to pet and feed the Sting Rays. C was able to get one and brought it over to us to play with on our own. Very different from the large tour groups who had to try to get an experience on their own, but mostly watched.

Then we went to Starfish Point where we saw some starfish; then on to the Coral Garden where it felt like we were snorkeling in an aquarium. C dropped chum over the side where we were floating and the fish and sting rays swarmed around us.

Finally, ended the day doing some bottom fishing for grunts and snapper using simple squid on a hook. Wife caught about 8 fish, and it seemed like she was pulling one up on every cast. Then C dove for a couple conch which he proceeded to crack. He gave us the shell as a souvenir, but unfortunately it was confiscated by the cruise ship crew when we boarded (they do not allow fresh shells on board, only processed ones from the gift shops).

If you are a family of 4-6, it is a great experience, especially for kids. Way better than the group tours, and depending on the size of your group, it is less expensive than taking a cruise excursion. If you make the effort to get off the ship early, you will beat all the crowds to the great spots.

C knows all the great places and customizes the trip to what you want to do and how long you want to spend at each location. He also knows all the local tour guides and works with them to make sure you get a great spot at each of the locations.
