Your guide is Captain Matt Kyle, a friendly and skilled angler who’ll guide you along the waters of Lake Tarpon and nearby rivers as you search for lovely freshwater species. Join him and experience the beauties of this part of Florida.
Lake Tarpon and the rivers offer a fine choice of fish to catch. You can target Largemouth Bass, Tarpon, and Snook. You’ll catch them by bottom fishing using light and heavy tackle. Captain Matt loves having a family atmosphere on his boat, so feel free to bring your kids along and have a wonderful day in nature together. The fish you catch is yours to keep, but you can release it if you wish.
The captain will provide you with rods, reels, tackle, live bait, lures, and water. Just pack your licenses and some food before you depart and you’ll be set to go.

I had the pleasure of fishing with Matt on Lake Tarpon in mid-March 2024, and despite the relative absence of bites, Matt was wonderfully attentive and even spent an extra hour on the lake with no charge. I hooked three fish, none of which exceeded 1.5 or two pounds, but I attribute that entirely to a recent weather change/conditions. Matt made every effort to get fish in the boat and was extremely helpful and generous with his time and effort. The slow day was definitely due to the front that had come through, and I'm certain that a future venture with Matt will/would produce more and larger fish. He knows his spots and his stuff.

When thinking about booking a charter, a key factor to consider is local knowledge of the lake, fish, and conditions. In this case Lake Tarpon, Fl., was my location and my target was large mouth bass.
Captain Matt was prompt and helpful in getting me dockside.
Captain Matt had a game plan for the day as we connect prior to the charter.
We elected to not use the live bait tactics to just put fish in the boat. My goal was to learn for Captain Matt on the multitude of different approaches true anglers need to take to be successful in any environment.
Caption Matt delivered and I was able to try a bevy of different set-ups. All with the rational associated with each approach.
We also hit multiple different locations that required totally different approaches.
If you really want to advance you game in the water Captain Matt can help you.
I had a great time and we put fish in the boat as well.
