The beautiful Rogue River winds through the Rogue Siskiyou National Forest, which is where you'll fish with Salmon King Lodge Guide Service whenever conditions permit. With one of 39 coveted Lower Rogue Forest Service permits, this first-class guide service can take you away from the crowded lower Rogue into the pristine Rogue Siskiyou National Forest.

Join professional guide Bill Divens for an exciting day of Salmon or Steelhead fishing aboard his 25' Willie Jet boat. It's one of the largest, best-equipped, and comfortable boats on the Rogue. You'll be using high-quality gear optimized for this fishery, including Lamiglas rods and Daiwa line-counter reels. This is a private charter. Your group will get the boat to itself.

Winter Steelhead are abundant from January – March. The run is so abundant that you are allowed to keep wild Steelhead over 24', in addition to all hatchery Steelhead. You'll fish from anchor, and brave the elements only to fight Steelhead. Most of these trips are run in the Rogue Siskiyou National Forest.

In March, spring Chinook enter the Rogue and can be caught until mid-June. You'll anchor in softer inside seams and fish anchovies or spinners for moving Salmon. You'll fish for Springers in the National Forest, away from the crowded lower Rogue. Fishing for what is arguably the best-tasting salmon on the planet is a bucket list trip for many anglers!

Fall run Chinook enter the Rogue in early July and the run builds through August and peaks in September. Water conditions permitting, you'll focus most of your effort in the National Forest. The King run lasts through October with a late run of large lower river spawners entering the river.

The Rogue hosts a spectacular run of Coho ('Silver') Salmon mid-September through mid- October. Full of fight, Silvers will take to the air like a Steelhead and bulldog like a king. You'll target these acrobatic fighters using spinners, small plugs, and anchovies.

Very good experience
4 Person Private Trip on March 25, 20264 adults
Capt .Bill was very knowledgable and personable. Even though we did not catch any fish my Grandsons were able to be on the river and learn about the river and surrounding area. They had a very good time and look forward to coming back.

A couple of pros and cards!
4 Person Private Trip on January 17, 20224 adults
Captain Bill and first mate River were on time when we arrived for an early start on the Rluge River. The steelhead were running and we thought that we had as good a chance as anybody of picking up a few. We went up river to a favorite spot that they knew set our lines and waited and I’ll be darned if in five minutes we didn’t have one on. It was quite a fight for a fish and it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, when we got him in the boat we realized he was a little too short and sent him on his merry way. The rest of the day we were just fishing, we weren’t catching. But that’s how it goes and we had a really nice time out on the river on a beautiful day. I got to spend some time with my son’s and for that I thank both Captain Bill and deckhand ROver for a fine day. These are the guys you want.

Captain Bill
2 Person Private Trip on August 17, 20222 adults
My son & I met Captain Bill on the Rogue early on a foggy morning in August. A nice smile, & a firm handshake greeted us for a nice day of Chinook fishing, & within 30 minutes I was fighting a 17 lb’r !! The fish being fresh from the ocean, had a lot of life in him, but Captain Bills’ experience really shines through even when the fish tried to go under the boat in the current amongst lots of fellow anglers, Bill put him in the boat. Thanks for a trip my son & I will never forget!

7hr July Salmon fishing the Rogue with Captain Bill
4 Person Private Trip on July 21, 20212 adults2 children
Before the trip Captain Bill warned us about slow fishing and asked if we would like to cancel. Since we were in it for the experience we let him know we would be going. Also in the email he let us know what to bring and answered all our questions. Fishing day we arrived at the landing at the same time met Bill and first mate River. They invited us into the boat went over the ground rules (3) and we were off. Captain Bill and first mate River were very detailed and patient with the kids since this was their first time using these kind of reals. All bait and tackle were prepared before hand and frozen. Everything was rigged for us every time and checked for proper spin in the water. All we had to do was catch the fish but as stated earlier it has been slow. In the end my wife caught the only salmon of the day and it was the biggest fish she has ever caught. Even though the kids didn’t catch a fish they loved the trip. All in all good people that make the fishing fun and memorable-plus. Thanks Captain Bill and first mate River

Fabulous Day with Bill and River
2 Person Private Trip on August 17, 20212 adults
My husband and I fished with Bill and River in mid-August and had a fantastic day. We appreciated their professionalism, expertise, good humor, and conversation throughout the day. We were early in the season and upriver was still too warm for Chinook to be making their way upstream, but despite that we still caught four lovely jacks. Bill is a great communicator and we knew what to expect, where to go, etc. It was a super fun experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Thanks, Bill and River!
