Book a trip with Green Eyed Girl Charters and enjoy a family-friendly, light tackle, reef, and offshore fishing in the fabulous Florida keys! Come fish with Capt. Ron Varona aboard his classic,  restored Sea Vee, the Green Eyed Girl. With over 30 years of experience fishing the upper Keys, Capt. Ron will share his knowledge and passion for fishing, with you and your family.

Come spend a day fishing the reef, wrecks, and offshore waters from Key Largo to Islamorada chasing a variety of species. Whether you want to catch and release Sailfish or catch Snapper, Grouper, or Mahi Mahi for dinner; the captain will do his best to give the best shot at your target and make your day a memorable one.

The Green Eyed Girl is a 25' Sea Vee, restored as recently as 2019 and powered by a 250 HP Yanmar engine. The vessel's max capacity is 4 anglers, excluding crew and all of the guests are able to fish comfortably at the same time. Featuring all the necessary safety equipment, fishing gear, and electronic systems, the boat has everything you could need for a safe and productive day on the water.

You'll be provided with all the things you need to fish, including top-notch custom rods and Daiwa reels, daily fishing licenses, artificial lures, and live bait. Live bait will typically be caught at the beginning of the trip and is always included in the price. You'll also be able to try your hand at a wide variety of fishing techniques, including kite fishing – if the weather allows for it.

The things you should pack for the trip are food, drinks, a cooler for your catch, sunscreen, and sunglasses. If you have this short checklist taken care of, take a look at the captain's calendar, find an opening that works for you and meet Green Eyed Girl Charters on the water!

Excellent Full Day trip with Captain Ron
Full Day Trip on March 8, 20264 adults

We were not at the best condition for fishing due to windy weather and rough sea, but Ron tried his very best to get us on a decent number of fish and chase after the sailfish by slow trolling in the rough sea. He is definitely a pro in fishing though he’s too humble to win those nominations in fishing. We had great conversation on the topics of both freshwater and saltwater fishing. Would definitely recommend Ron for your Keys fishing trip. Make sure you check the weather and listen to Captain’s suggestions.

Reported catch:
Mutton Snapper
Yellowtail Snapper
Red Grouper

Fishing Trip to Remember
3/4 Day Trip on December 29, 20212 adults

Captain Ron was amazing from the very beginning. He was very quick to respond with any questions I had before the trip and even checked in the day before. He was punctual and even ready early. Once out on the water he was very personalable with us and made us feel welcomed. He had all the necessary equipment and more. He provided us with a cooler to put the water, lunch and snacks in that we packed. He moved around to many different spots and you could tell that he was knowledgeable of the area and where to fish. He went above and beyond our expectations and made the experience memorable. I would highly recommend him for your next trip!

Born and raised in South Florida, the fishing bug struck Capt. Ron at a very early age. His family spent summers and weekends fishing and boating in the upper Keys and that's where his obsession grew. While in college he began mating on private and local charter boats in the Miami area. His travels took him to the Bahamas, Hawaii, and Costa Rica. After achieving his goal of a career in the fire service, he still craved to be on the water as much as he could. In 2003 he started Green Eyed Girl Charters, and began a journey of making life long friends and memories in the Florida Keys.
