Johannesburg Fly Fishing Guides – Lake

Your guide, Raymond Rainbird, was born and raised here, and he’s been fishing these waters for over 25 years. He’ll take you to the most productive fishing grounds in the area.

Raymond has a 4’ drift boat that you can use to explore these waters, and it can accommodate up to 4 people. But this will be a wading trip, so you’ll have an authentic experience while maximizing your chances of catching that bucket list fish!

Bring your fly fishing equipment so you can be comfortable on this adventure. You can also rent all the equipment from the captain at an additional charge, just let him know in advance. This is a catch and release trip, so note that you’ll be required to release all the fish after taking a few photos.

The target species of this trip is the hard-fighting Largemouth Bass, so this is a great chance to catch that monster specimen! Enjoy some of the amazing natural views in South Africa while testing your fly fishing skills, and have a trip you’ll remember. Kids older than 7 are welcome to come, so this is a great opportunity to make some wonderful family memories.

Raymond will make sure to provide you with a fishing license. All you really need to bring is some sun protection, some snacks and drinks, and you’re ready to have some fun!
