Captain William was great and knowledgeable. We caught a variety of fish and he knew all about them.  He was attentive and was right there to help with our needs. My only complaint was with Poseidon - we heard a snarky comment when we were checking in about our Captain which made us wonder what kind of Captain we we getting and when he was cleaning our fish they made some other comments to him as well…..not appropriate in front of customers. Also, we booked the trip thinking we were leaving from St. Pete’s (as advertised) but we received a call asking us to drive to Ruskin (approximately an hour away).  Although our trip was booked the night before, don’t advertise for St. Pete’s if that is not an option, however, we did choose to drive.  Overall I would book with Poseidon again and absolutely request Captain William!

First things first fishing booker does not describe the trip or boat accurately.  A full day trip does include lunch or snacks nor does the boat include bathrooms.  I was told the company has tried to correct the description on fishing booker but it is still not accurately described.  That needs to be fixed or at least Poseidon fishing need to send an accurate discerption to the customer family can plan accordingly. 

Fishing is good for shallow water 9 miles out in your in 40 feet of water.  Caught grouper that we below keeping limits, was able to keep some grunts and some snapper species and my personal favorites on the 2nd half of our trip we came into the bay because of some increasing roughness in the full we freeline for some trout and caught some beauties. 

We got a late start but the captain gave us extra time on the backend and I know the captain and firsthand were dead tired but cleaned our fish and cleaned it with care. 

So what made the trip was the staff.  They were professional, knowledgeable but not arrogant and so helpful, I have never had my hooked baited nor fish taken off and was not expecting it but those guys went beyond my expectations.  We didn’t waste time on spots that weren’t producing and we in the end got what we paid for.

Had a great charter and crew was fantastic to deal with. We got stuck for an extra hour in traffic on the way from Orlando, and the captain was understanding and accommodating. They were even able to give us back most of the time lost due to my late arrival. Once out on the water, we spent the morning following schools of little tunny which were very active. The captain gave us the option to bottom fish instead, but we were having so much fun with the little tunny that we opted to spend the entire trip catching them. Highly recommend Poseidon Charters!
