Immerse yourself in the wilderness of Everglades National Park. Captain Paul is a 3rd generation Miami native. He has been fishing these waters since 1997 and professionally guiding since 2018. Guiding out of Flamingo; he understands the backwaters of the Everglades like only a few do.

Your vessel for the day is a 17’ Seastrike, perfect for two anglers but capable of accommodating a third for an extra fee. Depending on wind and tides, Captain Paul brings along his 17’ canoe in the boat. The canoe accommodates 2 anglers plus the captain and allows for stealthy hunting of snook, redfish, and tarpon in shallow water.

Inshore fishing in the Everglades is an unforgettable experience. Hunting snook and redfish through the labyrinths of dark mangrove shorelines, or seeing a tarpon breach on a still foggy morning can invoke a sense of true adventure and enchantment. Rods, licenses, and tackle are all provided. All you have to do is make it to the town of Flamingo (45 min drive from Homestead, 90 mins from Key Largo).

Captain Paul is a catch-and-release guide. He believes in conservation and responsible stewardship of the park’s resources. He’s a member of Captains For Clean Water, and Bonefish Tarpon Trust. He encourages all his clients to get involved in protecting this world class fishery.

The captain works hard to make sure you have a good time and if you enjoy the trip, a 20% tip is customary. Also customary is the Florida Keys tradition of providing lunch for your guide. Other items you’ll need are some polarized glasses, bugspray, and sunscreen to stave off the Florida sun.

In addition, Captain Paul offers overnight camping/fishing experiences. He cooks all your meals, campsite set-up, and guides you to fish during the day. Talk to Paul about this immersive experience.

Whether you’re spending a day in the Everglades or camping overnight, Captain Paul wants to make your fishing trip a memorable one! Book today and prepare for an unforgettable experience

Couldn’t have been a better day with Capt. Paul

VERIFIED

Everglades Sight Fishing Fly/Spin on October 26, 2024

This was my favorite charter I’ve done to date! Paul put so much effort into getting my finance and I on loads of back water fish. We caught an assortment of fish and even completed the Flamingo slam! Paul took the time to spread some knowledge on the area as well as fish we were catching. Overall couldn’t have been a better day! We lost track of how many snook we caught, well over 25, landed a couple tarpon, one redfish, and then some various other species.

Best of Many Guides I’ve Chartered!

VERIFIED

Everglades Full-Day on November 7, 2024

Capt Paul gave me a very memorable day in the Everglades. I charter guides often and his was hands down the best trip I’ve ever taken. Lots of fish but even more important to me, informative and personable. Cannot recommend Capt Paul highly enough!

Fun filled 2 days with tons of memories

VERIFIED

Everglades Full-Day on November 21, 2023

We fished with Paul for 2 days and had a great time and caught quite a few fish. Paul offers some very unique fishing experiences that are a must try. We did 1 day deep in the Everglades on a canoe because the weather wasn’t great. We were on tarpon and snook all day and had a very memorable experience. Day 2 we had great weather and explored going offshore a little and it was another great day chasing Permit schools like we never saw before. You won’t find someone work harder and look at the clock less. He knows the Everglades like it’s his own backyard. I highly recommend giving him a try.

All Day No-Motor Zone Action on the Canoe - Snook and Tarpon

VERIFIED

Everglades - No Motor Zone on February 10, 2023

If you're looking for a unique experience the Florida Evergaldes and flamingo this is it. With a canoe strapped to the boat, Capt. Paul is showed us why it's worth the extra effort. As an avid angler, and seasoned guide who knows his fishery, we learned during the day while we got on the fish. It was an early morning at 4 am, but my buddy Greg arrived to scoop me up, and drove us out meet the captain of Legacy Fishing Charters. The wind stirred up the chop as we ventured out of the channel on an incoming tide towards the eastern edge of the everglades. We headed northwest, and arrive in the midst of terrapin bay and the surrounding area in under an hour where we departed the no motor zone to step back in time, and canoe through some areas that are mostly untouched. Paddling away from the boat, I realized this was just the escape from the noise I had been hoping for. Serenity is not a word that does this place justice, but it's the best one I have. There's no noise, no sound, just your conversation from your company and the bugs surrounded by mullet flips, flops, swooshes, and stirs. Early in the morning you could hear next to "nothing" which is a strange feeling when you've been in a city for a while. We had a great day paddling the canoe around the backwater bays. We landed a tarpon, 15 snook, a few ladyfish, mangrove snappers, and had lots of action throughout the day pitching paddletails into the mangroves. Thanks Cap - for being the "reel deal", and showing us a great day on the water.

My grandfather moved to Florida from Washington D.C. in the 1960s and fished the Keys and the Everglades for decades. When I was younger he would take me out of school to go fishing with him. I cherished every moment I got to spend with him. In 2014 he passed away and I was determined to keep the fishing legacy in the family. I worked hard to get my captain's license and spent as much time on the water as I could. Every time I travel to the Everglades I remember my grandfather and the memories we shared together. To me, fishing is more than just recreation or sport, it's a chance to reconnect with my dad and grandpa, revisiting memories of wonderful times spent together outdoors. My goal for everyone I fish with is that they would come away from the experience with more than just a big fish or nice story and cool pictures. My desire is that they make life-lasting memories with their families in one of the greatest places on earth; the Everglades.
